What the customer says goes, and it goes like this.
“I have just finished reading the GT brochure text, and it is first rate, even the payoffs is brilliant.
The most impressive text I have read since being in Italy. Great work mate!”
(Maserati Italia Marketing Manager)

Thanks for taking the time to drop by.
If you've got a document in Italian that you want in English, or something in English that needs a read, feel free to Contact Me so we can discuss the project!

I'm a professional English mother tongue translator, specialised in Italian to English translations in the technical field, with ongoing experience in business and economics. Recently I’ve also been working in alternative energy, with projects on geothermal energy, wind power, solar power, biofuel, and I have even installed my own photovoltaic system. I also have considerable experience in the automotive sector. Clients tend to contact me for jobs that require a “way with words” rather than a rendition “word for word”.

Here’s what some of my other clients have to say: Willingness to Work Again

Quote of the month:
From a brochure of a car rental firm in Tokyo:
"When passengers of foot heave in sight, tootle the horn. Trumpet him melodiously at first, but if he still obstacles your passage, then tootle him with vigor."

Where I'm coming from:
My grandfather made his name during the Second World War making rubber boats for the commandos with Bostik. My grandmother taught me everything I know about tennis, and other noble sports. My father was chief engineer in the Royal Navy, part of the team that commissioned the first Polaris subs. He moved on to become chief nuclear safeguards engineer at Hunterston power station, and finally specialised in Quality Assurance. He taught me a lot about many things. My mother was a stage actress, and I'm sure she's responsible for my passion for music, art, and writing.

I was born in England in 1965 and brought up on Treasure Island with swashbuckling pirates, hobbits, and sci-fi. I went to school, played rugby, chased girls and did all the usual things young boys do, including some that didn't go down too well with the powers that be. After moving to London I worked in the music business, then as a photographer, before marrying my beautiful Italian wife and moving to "il bel paese" where we opened a beach bar and had 3 beautiful babies, who are strapping young girls now. I worked as an English teacher at the International Forum Languages School of Forli before starting my career as a full-time professional translator 7 years ago.

Where I'm at:
I'm currently working as a full-time professional translator.
I enjoy my work and take pride in providing a quality service, meeting deadlines and giving feedback in a healthy, 2-way relationship with the client that has often become a friendship. I prefer not to accept jobs with deadlines that are unrealistic, as the quality of the translation and delivery on time are essential.

Apart from my family and work, my passions are writing and kiting. You can find some of my writing on the Personal Page of this profile or at the links below. If you want to come kitesurfing, just hit the beach next time it's blowin' up a storm and say, "Hi!"

I also love messing around with classic bikes and cars, especially if they’ve got Triumph written on them it seems. After restoring a 1970 Triumph Bonneville a few years ago, I’m currently restoring a 1966 Triumph Spitfire MkII to her original glory. Here’s a few pics.
