XXX: IN COLLABORATION WITH XXX
XXX consolidates its cooperation with the German firm XXX for the commercialization of ferries and non-nuclear submersibles weighing more than 700 tons. The nature of the Italian-German collaboration, explained in a XXX communiqué, “will be specified within the next few months” and “allows the integration of respective knowledge as well as reinforcing leadership positions already attained”. Nevertheless, the accord with XXX remains open to “other European firms in the naval shipyard sector”.

John Garang, 60 ans, ex-rebelle sudiste, est devenu samedi 9 juillet vice-président du Soudan. La cérémonie historique ouvre la voie à une période de transition de 6 ans à l’issue de laquelle les populations du Sud se prononceront ou non en faveur de l’indépendance.
Il y a peu, son portrait était interdit à Khartoum. Mais, samedi, son visage flottait sur les artères principales de la ville. Il y a peu, brandir le drapeau noir-vert-blanc-rouge de son mouvement, le Mouvement de libération du peuple soudanais (SPLM), vous valait d’être arrêté. Mais samedi, ces couleurs étaient partout. Khartoum a donc déroulé le tapis rouge pour John Garang, l’ex-rebelle sudiste. Samedi 9 juillet, il a prêté serment, devenant ainsi vice-président du pays. John Garang 60, ex southern rebel, became vice-president of Sudan on Saturday, July 9th. The historic ceremony paves the way for a six-year transition period at the end of which the southern population will vote “yes” or “no”, in favor of independence.
Not long ago, his portrait was prohibited in Khartoum. But on Saturday, his face was seen floating on the city’s main highways. It wasn’t long ago that flying the black-green-white-red flag of his Movement, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), earned one an arrest. But on Saturday July 9th, these colors were seen everywhere. Khartoum therefore rolled out the red carpet for John Garang, the ex southern rebel. On Saturday July 9th, he took the oath, thus becoming the country’s vice president. He will also become head of the independent administration which is to be established in the south. It’s the first time ever that a southerner and Christian obtains such a post in Sudan.
The historic ceremony marked the end of more than 20 years of war between the muslim north and the Christian south and animist.
