La coacción designa la violencia física, psíquica o moral que alguien ejerce sobre otro individuo con el objetivo de obligarlo a que diga o haga algo contrario a su voluntad, o en su defecto para inhibir alguna acción o pensamiento.
En términos generales, la coacción implica que una persona, con el empleo de violencia o amenaza, obliga a otro para que haga lo que la ley no manda, o le impide hacer lo que ella no prohíbe.

Coercion implies that an individual, by the use of physical force or threats, compels another to commit a crime or prevents him/her from doing what the law does not forbid.
