Source text - English AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL XXXXXEMPLOYEES Last week, we agreed with the Labor Board in Boston to hold an election at our operation on March 22. The election is being conducted so that you and other eligible XXXXX employees can decide if you want to bring an outside group – the Teamsters union – into our workplace. You will get the chance – on March 22 – to either vote “yes” or “no” to the Teamsters union. If you vote “yes” – you could end up paying $25 to $50 every month you work in union dues. If you decide to vote “no” – you can continue to work at XXXXX as we grow bigger – and never have to pay some outsider for the job you already have. We believe that having the XXXXX at our small operation is not the best way for us to work together. Some XXXXX employees have already come to us and told us that they made a mistake and that they do not want the XXXXX here. About me

I am the owner/operator of Baldwin Linguas, a small language services agency in New Haven, CT, but, first and foremost, am, myself, a translator and interpreter.
I am a court-qualified interpreter of Portuguese <> English,
and formerly a certified public school English teacher for grades 7-12 in Connecticut, USA. I have been interpreting in the CT courts, Federal courts, depositions, Workers´ Comp, Immigration and other legal matters, as well as in medical appointments, since November 2005 for various agencies and numerous law firms.
I have taught English and Spanish in CT Public Schools, and private schools.
I have a B.A. in English Literature, 9 credits towards a Master of Library and Information Sciences, and an honorary D.Div in Comparative Religion and Mythology, which I have also taught. I studied French Language and Literature as a minor, including courses at the graduate level at Purdue University, having earned numerous credits in examinations due to earlier studies in high school, and have been speaking French for over 20 years. I received "A´" grades in all of my French courses from high school to the graduate level.
My family is truly international, including members from Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Brasil, so I speak Spanish and Portuguese.

I have experience translating legal articles, various types of contracts (labor, construction, sales/purchase, service contracts, etc.), government forms, medical articles (specifically in regards to diabetes, as I am diabetic), psychology articles, clinical protocols, pathology reports, professional correspondence, housing related documents, health supplement and skin care catalogs, various marketing materials, tourism and travel related literature, religious texts, press releases, web sites, and more.

Recent projects I have completed include:
* various articles for the Spanish Journal of Psychology related to topics as broad as Alzheimer's Disease, ADHD, the affects of mercury poisoning on aggressive behavior in fish, and other topics. (all were PT>EN)

I have excellent technology knowledge and skills. I am an Open Source Software (Software Livre) user and developer, and have experience with Mac OSX, Windows 98, 2000 & XP, and Linux systems. As a teacher I provided professional development to my peers in regard to internet technology use in the classroom and web page creation. I am an experienced webmaster, managing the BaldwinLinguas.com site and other sites. I have developed a gnu/linux distribution especially for translators (http://www.linguasos.org), and develop other software and scripts in unix/bash, tcl/tk, perl, and python (http://www.baldwinsoftware.com). I assembled all of the computers in my office from parts, and regularly update the hardware by hand.

As an outsourcer, as well, I have put together a great team of providers spanning Canada to Argentina, working in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish, if I can't translate your project, I can manage it. I've found some excellent professionals, with whom I thoroughly enjoy collaborating. My collaborators are all also highly experienced professionals, and fascinating people. Several are attorneys, others are software developers and medical professionals.
