Dans un cadre plutôt social et de revalorisation de la culture autochtone péruvienne, le projet a l’ambition de promouvoir un échange culturel entre visiteurs et locaux. Pour ce faire il chercherait aussi de rassembler des minis coopératifs de chauffeurs de taxi, de porteurs, de propriétaires de chevaux et de tout regroupement des individus concernés et intéressés à la cause de notre organisation.
Dans la pratique, le projet consiste à développer un réseau entre l’Europe (Belgique) et le Pérou (la région de Cusco initialement) de tourisme alternative, c'est-à-dire de donner des alternatives aux visiteurs (principalement jeunes) de participer à un voyage avec des caractéristiques suivantes :
- Possibilité de participer à un meilleur échange culturelle que celui qui prédomine dans le secteur du tourisme actuel.
- Donner la possibilité d’apporter une expérience, un savoir faire, un repas, un cours de langues, une conférence, des ateliers, une fête ou tout ce qui pourrait signifier un échange culturelle pour les populations locales.
- Possibilité de développer des projets personnelles dans cette région ayant un support institutionnel juridique institué au Pérou et qui a comme priorité la juste rémunérations de ces travailleurs (au sens le plus large possible)

In een eerder sociaal kader van de herwaardering van de autochtone Peruviaanse cultuur ambieert het project een bevordering van een culturele uitwisseling tussen bezoekers en de lokale bevolking. Om dit te verwezenlijken zal de vereniging ook met kleinere verenigingen samenwerken zoals verenigingen van taxichauffeurs, dragers, paardeneigenaars, en iedere persoon die geïnteresseerd kan zijn in het doel van onze organisatie.
In de praktijk zal het project een netwerk ontwikkelen tussen Europa (België) en Peru (aanvankelijk met de streek rond Cusco) voor de bevordering van alternatief toerisme, dit betekent dat de bezoekers (vooral jongeren) een alternatieve reis wordt aangeboden die de volgende eigenschappen heeft:
- De reis biedt de mogelijkheid om mee te werken aan een betere culturele uitwisseling, wat in het huidige toerisme de toon aangeeft.
- De reis biedt de mogelijkheid om ervaring en knowhow over te brengen, een taalcursus, kooklessen, workshops of een feest te geven, of alles wat kan bijdragen tot een culturele uitwisseling naar de lokale bevolking toe.
- De reis biedt de mogelijkheid persoonlijke projecten uit te werken in de streek met de institutionele juridische steun van Peru waarbij de prioriteit ligt bij een correcte verloning voor de werknemers (in de ruimst mogelijke zin).

The evolution during the last decades
The past 20 years company cars have made huge progress when it comes to the three environment parameters: emissions, consumption and sound.
Emissions have been strongly reduced during the last decade. On 1 October 2000 the Euro-3 standard has come into effect.
The admitted emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) are 65% lower than in 1988. The particles in the air (PM) have even decreased by 85% (cf. diagram a).
Also other emissions, such as carbon monoxide and unsaturated hydrocarbons, have been reduced by a similar factor. The smoky, smelly lorry is disappearing from the scene. At the same time manufacturers have made considerable efforts to make lorry more fuel efficient. The purchase of diesel accounts for 20% of the transportational costs of a transport company. Therefore, transport companies have always put much pressure on reducing the consumption of cars. A standard lorry and trailer consumes 1/3 less than over 30 years ago, while its engine power has doubled. This illustrates the large improvement that has been achieved when it comes to engines. That leaves us with the sound. Since 1970, European lawmaker has limited noise emissions admitted by 11 dB(A). More specifically this means that a lorry produces as much noise as 13 lorries today.

De afgelopen 20 jaar hebben de bedrijfsvoertuigen grote vooruitgang geboekt op het vlak van de 3 milieuparameters : emissies, verbruik en geluid.
De emissies zijn het jongste decennium drastisch beperkt. Vanaf 1 oktober 2000 is de Euro 3-norm van kracht.
De toegelaten uitstoot van stikstofoxiden (NOx) zit 65% onder het niveau van 1988. Voor deeltjes (PM) bedraagt de daling zelfs 85% (zie grafiek a).
Ook andere emissies, met name koolstofmonoxide en onverbrande koolwaterstoffen, werden met een gelijkaardige factor gereduceerd. De rokende en stinkende vrachtwagen verdwijnt dus stilaan uit ons straatbeeld. Tegelijk hebben de constructeurs grote inspanningen geleverd om het brandstofverbruik terug te schroeven. De aankoop van diesel maakt ongeveer 20% uit van de werkingskosten van een transportonderneming1. Vanuit deze hoek is de druk om de zuinigheid te verbeteren bijgevolg steeds erg groot geweest. Vandaag verbruikt de standaard trekker-oplegger 1/3 minder dan 30 jaar geleden, terwijl zijn motorvermogen verdubbelde. Dit illustreert de grote vooruitgang die er op motorisch vlak geboekt werd.
En dan is er het geluid. De Europese wetgever heeft sinds 1970 de toegelaten geluidsemissies met 11 dB(A) beperkt. Concreet betekent dit dat 1 vrachtwagen van toen, evenveel lawaai maakt als 13 van nu. | | Spanish to Dutch: La bronca como estrategia | Source text - Spanish
Mariano Rajoy tiene el raro honor de haber sido el primer líder de oposición que ha llevado la lucha antiterrorista a las Cortes. Todo el mundo sabe que este formato es terreno propicio a la bronca. A Rajoy le ha importado poco. Si la lucha antiterrorista sirve para desgastar al Gobierno, se utiliza. No ha hecho sino seguir la senda trazada en su día por Aznar. Poco cuentan los grandilocuentes discursos sobre la unidad de las fuerzas democráticas y sobre la necesidad de que todos arropen al Gobierno en materia de terrorismo, sea cual sea el color del mismo. Como colofón, Rajoy ha declarado rotas las relaciones con el PSOE en política antiterrorista.
Las apelaciones del PP a la unidad contra el terrorismo nunca han estado sobradas de credibilidad. En su carrera hacia La Moncloa, Aznar no dudó en acusar al presidente González de ineficiencia cuando ETA asesinó a Francisco Tomás y Valiente. Y fue necesario que Aznar se llevara un aviso en la manifestación de repulsa por el asesinato de Ernest Lluch en Barcelona para que aceptara el Pacto Antiterrorista que Zapatero había promovido inútilmente hasta entonces. Del mismo modo que quien votó en contra de la Constitución en su momento se convirtió más tarde en su más intransigente defensor, quien rechazó inicialmente el Pacto Antiterrorista acabó convirtiéndolo en un horizonte ideológico insuperable.

De voorzitter van de (Spaanse) conservatieve partij, Mariano Rajoy, heeft de bedenkelijke eer de eerste oppositieleider te zijn die het debat rond de terreurbestrijding in het parlement wil voeren. Zoals iedereen weet is dat om ruzie vragen, maar Rajoy trekt zich daar niets van aan. Als hij met de terreurbestrijding de regering in discredit kan brengen, dan zal hij dat ook doen. Daarmee doet hij eigenlijk niets anders dan in de voetsporen treden van zijn voorganger Aznar. Er blijft nog maar weinig over van de hoogdravende toespraken waarin de conservatieven alle democratische partijen opriepen om samen te werken en de regering te steunen in de strijd tegen het terrorisme ongeacht de strekking. Als klap op de vuurpijl heeft Rajoy nu zelfs de onderhandeling rond het anti-terreurbeleid met de socialisten verbroken.
De oproep van de conservatieven om één blok te vormen tegen het terrorisme is nooit erg geloofwaardig geweest. In zijn wedloop naar het premierschap heeft Aznar niet geaarzeld de toenmalige eerste minister(B)/minister-president(NL) te beschuldigen van een gebrek aan efficiëntie toen de Baskische terreurbeweging ETA de Spaanse jurist en universiteitsprofessor Francisco Tomás y Valiente vermoord had. En pas na de protestbetoging naar aanleiding van de moord op Ernest Lluch besefte Aznar dat hij het Anti-terreurpact van de socialist Zapatero moest ondertekenen. Net zoals de conservatieven eerst tegen de Europese grondwet waren om er daarna de meest fervente voorstanders van te worden, zo verwierpen ze aanvankelijk het Anti-terreurpact en hebben ze er nu een onmogelijke principekwestie van gemaakt nooit met terroristen te onderhandelen.

Regenbogen staan symbool voor een droombeeld, voor een onbereikbare schat waar ieder van ons een leven lang naar op zoek is.
Voor de mensen van xxx is “Regenbogen” een werkwoord.
Het is iets wat je doet.
Het staat letterlijk voor het opspuiten van zand en water: het zand komt uit de zee en wordt samen met het water in een boog opgespoten om nieuw land te creëren.
Als de zon goed zit, kan je zelfs in kleuren regenbogen.
3500 mensen werken voor XXX. Niet iedereen vult zijn dagen met het werkwoord regenbogen. En niemand jaagt het onbereikbare na. Of toch?
XXX‘s verhaal begint 150 jaar geleden met het aanleggen van wegen langs het water en met het vrijmaken van dichtslibbende waterwegen.
Baggeren heette dat toen, en ze waren er goed in.

To the people of XXX “to Rainbow” is a verb.
It’s simply something you do.
Literally, it’s the spouting up of sand and water: sand is taken out of the sea and is spouted up in a bow together with seawater in order to create new land.
When the sun reaches a favourable position, it’s even possible to rainbow in colour.
There are 3,500 people working at XXX. Not everyone spends their days rainbowing; and no one pursues the
unattainable, …or do they?
XXX’s story begins 150 years ago, when they constructed roads along the waterside and cleared silted up waterways.
In those days they called it dredging, and they were pretty good at it. Today XXX is dredging all over the world. They clear waterways and guarantee safe and fluent traffic on water on all five continents.
They are familiar with the time-honoured game of the tides; they feel at home both on water and on land. In a continuously changing world with an ever-growing population that continues claiming more habitable land, XXX creates land out of water.
It can be expressed in five words: “creating land for the future”. As a matter of fact it’s a long process that takes several years of brainwork, calculations, tool and ship development, training people, collaboration, success, failure, persistence, and especially respecting the laws of nature, taking into account the unaccountable and believing in what is being done. So, a bit of “rainbowing” after all…
XXX’s 3,500 employees belong to a rainbow nation: they come from all over the world and they work everywhere: Asia, Africa, Europe, America and Australia. Man and machine, insignificant in this spacious world, people who are concerned about our planet and who choose today to make old, destroyed land healthy and habitable again. Sustainability and respect for the environment are two poles that have been added to the XXX Group’s new world compass.
