About me
"I took the path less traveled by and that has made all the difference."

I knew I wanted to go to Asia when I was young and decided on Korea. I have lived here for a total of 12 years.

After studying in an intensive language program for 2 years, I entered a Korean university called Sun Moon University where I attended 1 year of classes exclusively in Korean.

After that year I thought a degree from an American university might be more helpful in my career and I transferred to the University of Maryland and completed my degree there.

I soon found employment in Korea like most English speakers - teaching English as a Second Language.

I also taught English business skills, and presentation skills as well.

Through networking and word-of-mouth I was able to connect with many amazing clients:

OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) branch of Korea
U.S. Army 121 Hospital (on Headquarters Post in Seoul)
POSCO (world's 3rd largest steelmaker)
KOWACO (Korea Water Resources Corporation)
Doota! (Shopping mall)
Lotte Cinema (Movie Theater Chain in Korea)
Korea University
KITA (Korea International Trade Association)

Along the way I also became the English news anchor for G-News Plus, a weekly news segment in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. (Suburb of Seoul)

These days I teach and translate. Translation work mostly entails internal documents and automotive related manuals for my major client, Korea Fuel Tech Corporation, a supplier to Hyundai-Kia, GM Daewoo, Ssangyong Motors, Samsung Renault, Fiat and a few others.

I am also working as a visiting professor at Suwon Women's College, a two year college in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Korea.

Along the way I have done dozens of translation jobs. I’ve made a list of some of the more major works below.
