My first and most important character attribute is most certainly my work ethic. Influenced by Zen philosophy, I do not see work as something unpleasant that has to be done in order to survive. My work is an essential part of my life and doing it well is an important source of happiness for me. So, getting your work done in a way that the results leave you satisfied is more than a merely money-related obligation, but rather a personal commitment.

My favorite language pair is most certainly English/German. I have been using English since I remember, reading English books, writing and speaking English on every possible occasion.
Translating between English and my mother tongue German is a natural choice for me, and something I really enjoy doing.

Living in Portugal for the last ten years, I have good insider knowledge of how the Portuguese language is used in everyday life. I read and speak Portuguese fluently and understand more challenging or technical language without problems. I would be glad to do any translations from Portuguese to German for you!
It should be unnecessary to mention, but my German grammar and orthographic skills are flawless – years of excessive reading and an almost photographic memory for the proper spelling of words guarantee great, effortless German.

I have been working as a freelancer since 2009. Larger projects included the translation of the user manual for the SIM2 Lumis 3d-s home cinema projector, the translation of a series of product descriptions for a large civil engineering company, the translation of www.brainware.com and the translation of a brochure about plastic cards. Some smaller jobs included the translation of Material Safety Data Sheets and product descriptions for retail and e-commerce. I usually work with SDL Trados Suite 2009, but I find my way around SDL Trados 2007, if necessary. Of course, I can handle Microsoft office and I have some experience with HTML and CSS that can help when translating web sites.

… traveling to several European Countries during a couple of years, meeting with people of all kinds and trades. During my travels, I was able to gain experience in a multitude of different fields like agriculture, tourism, mechanics and technical fields.
I have always been fascinated with art. In 2003, I started my company Artemosaic for the production of replica of roman mosaic. My activities in this field helped me to gain insights into history, archeology, art history as well as geology, mineralogy and the engineering and technology involved in mining and processing stone.
