About me
Freelance English > French Translator based in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada), Associate member of the STIBC - Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia, my specializations include legal translations, translations in the service and tourism industry (hotels and restaurants mostly), as well as in the arts such as architecture and photography.

I was born and raised in Southern France, but also lived for about a year in Scotland, and I have been a Permanent Resident of Canada since June 2009, living in Vancouver these past four years.
The diverse nature of these environments has led to my developing a keen understanding of society in general, and more specifically, of French, Scottish, Canadian and American cultures – an understanding which is a great asset to the professional field of translation.

I am fluent in French (my mother tongue) and English. In France, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in General Law from the Law University of Aix-en-Provence, as well as with an English Literature Diploma. I also graduated with a Translation Certificate from the Université de Saint-Boniface (Winnipeg, MB, Canada) in the French/English pair.

I am meticulous and committed to respecting deadlines. Moreover, I excel at dealing with stressful situations.

Please do not hesitate to contact me as I would love to hear from you.
I can be contacted by Skype (my ID is elsachesnel), and my email address is elsachesnel@gmail.com.

Sincerely,
Elsa T. Chesnel
