Lufthansa will transport your animals either in the cabin or in the cargo hold of the aircraft depending on their weight and size. Please note that the applicable animal welfare regulations as well as the import and export regulations of the countries concerned must be adhered to. Please contact the Lufthansa Service Centre or the relevant consulate for more detailed information before your flight.For some dog breeds special transport regulations apply.
Timely reservation is necessary.
If you like to take your pets along on your Lufthansa flight, please notify us when you make your booking but at the latest 24 hours before the departure date by contacting our Lufthansa Reservation Offices or tell our Lufthansa Airport Ticket Teams in person.
In case of selecting a code-share flight where the operating carrier is not Lufthansa, please ensure that you contact our Reservation Office before purchasing the ticket. The booking procedure and policies are different for different carriers.
Transport of small dogs and cats into the passenger cabin.
You may take a dog or cat into the cabin, if the weight of the animal (including transport container) does not exceed eight kilograms. The animal has to be kept in a box measuring not more than 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm. You may use your own transport box if it has the necessary measurement and is watertight and bite proof.
Transport of larger animals in the cargo hold.
Animals that cannot be transported inside the cabin will be transported by Lufthansa in appropriate containers in an air-conditioned area of the cargo hold. You may use your own transport container for your animal if it complies with the relevant IATA (International Air Transport Association) regulations. The container must in any case be large enough to ensure that the animal can stand up and has sufficient space to move. Furthermore, containers shall be equipped with a water dish (empty).

В случае нашей страны это усилилось тем, что люди потеряли свое место в реальности, основания для самоуважения. Россияне по-прежнему теряют чувство гордости за страну, за себя, они очень зависимы по отношению к властям, уязвимы перед произволом и насилием. И все это создает повышенную внутреннюю напряженность. И вот эта агрессия выливается на «чужих». Ксенофобия – это попытка самоутверждения через антипатию к другим», - объясняет Гудков.
В недавнем отчете о глобальном благосостоянии, подготовленном банком Credit Suisse, Россия занимает одно из первых мест в мире по имущественному неравенству среди населения, уступая лишь нескольким небольшим государствам Карибского бассейна.
По данным экспертов, сегодня в России 110 миллиардерам принадлежит 35% всех богатств. Экономика страны полностью зависит от нефти и газа, инфраструктура, которая была заложена еще в советское время, изнашивается буквально на глазах – о чем говорит череда крупных техногенных катастроф. Власти не скрывают, что в ближайшее время страну ожидает стагнация и ужимают бюджет.
Государство тратит миллиарды на Олимпиаду в Сочи, которая гражданам пока ничего, кроме неудобства не принесла. А в это время волонтеры собирают благотворительные средства в помощь затопленному Дальнему Востоку.
Все это, разумеется, вызывает у людей глухое раздражение и ощущение, что у них украли будущее. Но выхода никакого россияне не видят. Многие из нас еще очень хорошо помнят голод и неустроенность 90-х годов, когда ломалась система. И держатся за хрупкое и обманчиво ощущение стабильности.
Вот почему в России сегодня так удобно иметь врага. Образ внешнего врага, который отлично работал во время холодной войны, сегодня уже не столь эффективен – все-таки многие россияне путешествуют по миру и видят своим глазами, что вокруг живут нормальные люди.
А вот ненависть к внутреннему «чужому» , как оказалось, дает быстрый и надежный результат: банальное «разделяй и властвуй!».
Еще несколько лет назад социологи говорили о том, что, хотя большинство россиян разделяло ксенофобские лозунги и этническая ненависть была уже щедро разлита в обществе, к радикальным консолидированным формам национализма, обыватели относились с опаской.
«Организованные группировки типа скинхедов население не поддерживает. Они вызывают скорее отторжение и настороженность, чем поддержку, потому что воспринимаются как угроза хрупкому ощущению стабильности» , - так говорили эксперты еще в 2010 году.
Но вот прошло 3 года, и Бирюлево показало, что настроения поменялись. Уже не скинхеды, не радикальные юнцы, а женщины с колясками кричали: «Бей черных!».
Да и в соцсетях многие комментаторы относились к погромщикам, скорее, с пониманием. А власти дали однозначный сигнал, что не против таких народных выступлений – после погрома начались массовые «облавы» на «нелегалов», закрытия рынков и депортации.
И все это не оставляет надежды на то, что в ближайшее время общество одумается, поймет, что его обманывают и уводят от реальных проблем, натравливая на мнимых «чужих».
Насилие в российском обществе, насквозь пронизанным агрессией, будет только нарастать. И я иногда ловлю себя на мысли, что мне спокойнее от мысли, что мой сын похож отца и вырос блондином. Сегодня в России быть «черным» очень опасно.

In a recent report about global welfare, compiled by Credit Suisse bank, Russia ranks as having some of the highest wealth inequality within the population, and being outranked only by a number of small governments in the Caribbean Sea.
According to expert data, in present day Russia 110 billionaires hold 35% of all the wealth. The economy totally depends on oil and gas production. Soviet infrastructure is rapidly wearing out, which is confirmed by numerous industrial disasters. Authorities do not conceal the coming stagnation and pruning of the budget.
The state has spent billions for the Sochi Olympics which brings only disadvantages to citizens. Volunteers make charity fundraising to help flooded Russia’s Far East.
People start feeling strongly irritated and robbed by their government. But they see no way out. Most of us remember starvation and unsettled life in the 90s, trying to capture a subtle and illusive sense of stability. This is why it is very important to have an enemy.
An enemy who was working during the Cold War is not effective nowadays because most of Russians travel around the world and see normal people. But a hate to “aliens” turned out to be the quickest and best answer to trivial principle of “divide and rule”.
Several years ago, it was said by sociologists that in spite of the fact that xenophobia and ethnic hate is quite spread in the society, it was still not radical nationalism and was treated with fear.
“Organized groups such as skinheads are not supported up by society. They are met with abrasion and are associated with a threat to a subtle stability,” experts said in 2010.
These years passed and Birulyevo showed that times have changed. The cry of, “Beat the blacks,” is not only heard from skinheads and youngsters, but also women with babies. Violent comments on social networks were treated with permissiveness. Authorities supported such speeches and mass police raids began against “illegals” after the “pogrom”. Markets were closed and deportations ordered.
And all this holds out a hope for people to listen to one another and understand that the problem is separate from real life problems. All this hate sets people against each other. Violence in a Russian society has become aggressive and is spreading. I sometimes find myself thinking that I would be relieved if my son looked like my father – a blonde – because it is uncomfortable to be “black” in today’s Russia.
