B.S. in Linguistics, M.A. in Russian. Certificate of Proficiency in Danish from the University of Copenhagen. Graduate study at the Slavic Institute, University of Copenhagen. Certified in Russian to English translation by the American Translators Association (ATA).

Former metallurgical process manager/engineer at an art/architectural bronze firm. Former scientific support services manager, Harvard College Observatory, Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Full-time independent translator in Europe and the U.S.A. since 1972. First published translation (from Danish): "Anesthetic Apparatus Leakages: A Possible Pollution Source," ACTA ANAESTH. SCAND., 17, 1972, pp. 1-7.

Served for 20 years, during the Cold War, as an independent contractor for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, translating sci-tech material to English from Danish, German, Norwegian, Russian and Swedish. Translator from Russian to English of over a dozen full-length technical books and hundreds of scientific and technical journal articles. Translator/translation contractor in 1991-92 for the U.S. visits of Mikhail Gorbachev and Eduard Shevardnadze. Presently medical translator (independent contractor) for the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Now serving patent law firms, the medical and scientific community, industrial clients and select translation companies.
