In the past months I've translated:

- Corporate Design Manuals, 18,000 words
- Advertising text for regular advertising agency client
- eLearning software website
- Weekly company newsletter for ongoing client
- Industrial sewing software manual
- "Leasing the Sky" Book on Gert Hof
- approx. 55,000 words of marketing, advertising, press release copy
- A 40,000-word eLearning application software Manual
- approx. 35,000 words of employee contracts, general terms of business, rental contracts

• The majority of my work has been in translating Style Guides, corporate design manuals, Internet services, advertising texts, abstracts, storyboards, slogans, general company profiles, software application promotions, websites.

• Grew up bilingually in Canada with German parents BUT my dominant language has always been English, which is why I would never attempt to translate English into German.
My personal philosophy
As a native-English speaker who has lived in Germany for the past 18 years, I prefer to work with one language pair and in one direction only (German to English). I believe it is a translator's duty to produce copy as readable and interesting as the original. Translated text often reads "stilted" when translated word for word. I translate the idea into the idea. Many translators can't do this, and a non-native speaker rarely has the feel for it, concentrating more on the correct grammar rules. I promise a translation that a native speaker will enjoy reading and not realize they are reading a translation. This is extremely important when dealing with advertising copy.
