Superconductivity is the ability of certain materials to conduct electrical current with no resistance and extremely low losses. This ability to carry large amounts of current can be applied to electric power devices such as motors and generators, and to electricity transmission in power lines. For example, superconductors can carry as much as 100 times the amount of electricity of ordinary copper or aluminum wires of the same size.
Scientists had been intrigued with the concept of superconductivity since its discovery in the early 1900s, but the extreme low temperatures the phenomenon required was a barrier to practical and low-cost applications. This all changed in 1986, when a new class of ceramic superconductors was discovered that "superconducted" at higher temperatures. The science of high-temperature superconductivity (HTS) was born, and along with it came the prospect for an elegant technology that promises to "supercharge" the way energy is generated, delivered, and used.

Depuis sa découverte au début des années 1900, les scientifiques ont toujours été intrigués par le concept de la supraconductivité, mais la très basse température qu’elle requiert a toujours été un obstacle à sa mise en œuvre à faible coût. Cette situation pris fin lorsqu’en 1986 une nouvelle classe de supraconducteurs en céramique qui pouvaient « supraconduire » à haute température fut découverte. L’étude de la supraconductivité en haute température (HTS), voyait alors le jour, et avec elle la perspective d’une technologie élégante qui promet aux « supercharges » la façon dont l’énergie est générée, transportée et utilisée.

• Identify the API model in a Banner 7 form
• Identify the API model in a PL/SQL application
• Identify the API model in a Pro C process
Intended audience
The API training service is designed for technical program developers.
In order for an institution to benefit from the API training, participants should have knowledge and experience in
• Oracle Forms development
• PL/SQL
• Pro C.
Note: While not a requirement, participants may benefit if they have had actual technical exposure to the Banner ERP product. SunGard Higher Education offers technical training classes specific to each Banner product (e.g., Banner Student – Technical, Banner Finance – Technical, etc.) that provides participants with the underlying knowledge of product infrastructure (i.e. tables, table structures, forms, packages, etc.).
