Translating since 1995, in a wide variety of fields, like medicine and pharmaceutics, biochemistry, patents, popular science, consumer electronics, history, food and cooking, marketing and market research, etc. However, I do know my limitations and do NOT undertake any legal or finance translations.
Working in team with my wife Karin Nettelblad (with 25 years experience), one of us translating, the other one editing/proofreading the text. We – and our clients – have found that this renders a superior result, with translations that read like originals, without any non-idiomatic phrasings or ambiguities.
Medic and scientist
I hold a medical degree as well as a B.Sc. in chemistry, biochemistry and molecular genetics. Ph.D. studies in Medical chemistry. (Click here for a sample of my scientific work.)
Writer and journalist
Author of five successful science textbooks for Swedish secondary school, published by Bonnier and Liber Utbildning (Swedish branch of Wolters Kluwer) (Click here for one example).
Since 1988 writing popular science material for Swedish National Radio and various newspapers and magazines. For 13 years also writing a daily column about various historical jubilees and anniversaries.
For six years working halftime for Uppsala University, writing popular press releases about research news from the University (in all fields from theology and linguistics to medicine and theoretical physics).
Currently commissioned to write articles for the Youth Edition of the Swedish National Encyclopaedia (Nationalencyklopedin).
We master patents, but we don’t do legal texts
If you came to my profile because you were looking for a translator of legal texts, I apologize. ProZ has chosen to gather law and patents together as one and the same “General field”. So in order for patent clients to find me, I need to include that field in my profile.
