LETTER OF REQUEST FOR JUDICIAL ASSISTANCE
TO: THE APPROPRIATE JUDICIAL AUTHORITY OF TAIWAN:
In the interest of justice, the United States District Court for (****) requests the judicial assistance of the appropriate judicial authority of Taiwan to effect service of process in connection with the above-referenced civil proceeding before this Court.
REQUEST:
This Court requests the appropriate judicial authority of Taiwan to effect service of the Summons and Complaint in the above-referenced action for patent infringement upon the corporation identified below, in such manner as prescribed by the laws of Taiwan for service of court summons and complaint:

The Summons and Complaint to be served upon said B together with certified Mandarin Chinese-language translations thereof, are attached hereto. A certified Mandarin Chinese-translation of this Letter of Request for Judicial Assistance is also attached. Please serve all of these documents upon B at the above address in accordance with the law of Taiwan.
This Court further requests the appropriate judicial authority of Taiwan to return proof of service to the Clerk of this Court after the above-referenced Summons and Complaint have been served upon said B. Proof of Service should be addressed to:

If any judicial authority of Taiwan should in the future request assistance similar to that requested herein from this Court, we would be pleased to provide such assistance.
EXPENSES:

The sea that early Sunday morning was streaked turquoise and squamarine. Not a single whitecap was in sight, and the gentle breeze of the trade winds held the rising heat at bay. I scanned the fine sandy beach from one end to the other. About half a mile away I could see early rising fisherman cleaning their brightly painted wooden long boats beached high up on the sand and moored to rocks and twisted old trees. The breeze carried the giggles and screeches of little children already at play around the collection of tin-roofed houses that make up the small fishing village, and the smell of wood fires lit to cook breakfast wafted toward me. | Translation - Chinese
