The Parties shall make every effort to resolve amicably by direct informal negotiation any disagreement or dispute arising between them out of or in connection with this Agreement.

If the Parties have been unable to resolve any disagreement or dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement amicably, including any question regarding its existence or validity, any Party may by notice in writing to the other Party require that the disagreement or dispute be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration under the Rules of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dubai (the "Rules") which are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this clause, save that:

- the tribunal shall consist of three arbitrators. Each of the First Party and the Second Party will appoint one arbitrator and both appointed arbitrators will appoint a third independent arbitrator. If the two appointed arbitrators fail to appoint the third arbitrator within seven days of their appointment, the third arbitrator shall be appointed by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and

- the place of arbitration shall be the Emirate of Dubai and the language of the arbitration shall be English.

عندما زفت لي زوجتي خبر حملها انتابني ذلك الإحساس بالخوف الذي ينتاب المرء عندما تهوي به الأفعوانية نزولاً. لقد شعرت بالنشوة، نعم، ولكن .. يا إلهي! فتربية الأطفال مسؤولية الآباء.

ها أنا ذا شاخص العينين، أتصبب عرقاً مثل شخصية كرتونية لم يحسن الرسام رسمها، تحوم علامات الاستفهام من حولي وأنا أحاول الاستعداد لتحمل مسؤولية العناية الكاملة بكائن حي آخر غير قطتي. فأنا المسؤول عن ضمان ألا يكبر هذا الآدمي الصغير ليصبح شراً مستطيراً، وهي غلطتي إن لم يحسن التصرف اجتماعياً، و سيكون الذنب ذنبي إن لم يعرف مكان لوكسمبورج على الخريطة لأنني لم أوفر له تعليماً أفضل. كما أنه سيحتاج للعلاج وتلك أيضاً مسؤولية أخرى تقع على كاهلي، من الواضح أن احتمالات الخطأ كبيرة جداً!

أذكر اليوم الذي أجلسني فيه أبي وأخبرني بارتباك كيف يتكاثر بنو البشر؛ لعلها كانت أكثر نصف ساعة عذاباً وإرباكاً في حياتينا كلينا، ولا أستطيع فعل ذلك بشخص آخر.

ربما أكون أستهين بقدراتي بعض الشيء، إلا أني أقول لنفسي : "أستطيع فعل ذلك، سأكون أباً ناجحاً وسيكبر ولدي ليصبح مواطناً متزناً متعلماً مستقيماً في هذا العالم ولن يكرهني".

ثم أتخيل الجنين وهو ما يزال ينعم بالأمان في رحم زوجتي، يفتح عينيه فجأة وقد تنبه للفكرة: "ماذا لو لم يستطع أبي التكيف مع الوضع الجديد؟"
