About me
Hello dear visitor!

Welcome to my profile page! All you need to know about me and my work as a translator is this profile and in my cv, available for download in Spanish, English and Italian.

I am a certified freelance translator based in Spain.

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpreting and a Master's Degree in Audiovisual Translation (localization, subtitling, cinema and tv translation, etc).

I work with English, Italian, French and German. I am also a certified Sworn Translator for English appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

My passion for languages and words has led me to choose this wonderful and challenging profession. I enjoy my job very much and I believe that reflects on my translations too!

I had my first experiences as a translator during and right after my university studies through several internships and early assignments, which I undertook with great excitement and dedication (please refer to cv).

I have been now working as a professional freelance translator for more than 6 years and have acquired expertise in several fields, including EU technical regulations, art-related texts and books, audiovisual translations for subtitling and dubbing purposes, legal texts (contracts), international organizations website documents, press releases, etc.

Some of my clients include:

Tecnison (Canal +, FOX Spain, Twentieth Century Fox)
Soundub (Disney/ABC)
European Union (Parliament and Commission)
Natural History Museum of London
Fauna & Flora International
Rapid Response Facilty (UNESCO)
Sillabe Publishing House
Susaeta Publishing House
Marilena Ferrari FMR
EMI
Visit Monaco
Tres Bien Comunicación
EMSA
Christie, Sage, Serco, Tesla, Avery Dennison...

Some of my latest assignments:

Art-related:
- Rome art-focused tourist guide for Sillabe publishing house.
- Vatican art guide for Sillabe publishing house.

Script translation:
- TV show 'The League' (all three seasons). US English.
- TV show 'Happy Endings' (2nd season). US English.
- TV animation show 'Wakfu' (26 episodes and 26 miniepisodes). French.
- TV documentary show 'Cops'. US English.
- TV documentary show 'Globe Trekker' (several special episodes) and other for Pilot Guides. US/UK English.
- Quebec humour clips 'Têtes à Claques' (4th season). Canadian French.

My passion for languages is obviously linked to a great passion for travelling. I have lived and spent long periods of time in England, France, Italy and Germany. I have learned to know, enjoy and share their customs and cultures. This cultural insight is an enormous advantage in the translation world, where one must translate not just words but concepts, ideas and cultural references.

If you need to contact me, please be welcome to do so per email (alicia.gcamino@gmail.com) or by phone (see Contact tab). I will be glad to assist you with any translation or language issue you feel I could help you with.

On the practical side, I work with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as with PDF, hard copy documents and HTML. I use TRADOS 7 and edit HTML files with Tag Editor. I use the DigiDelivery and the Aspera Faspex platforms to receive the relevant videos when it comes to audiovisual translations. As to subtitling, I have the necessary software to create subtitle files (.srt, .sub, .ssa, etc) including time encoding.

I accept payments via wire transfer (both Spanish and Italian bank accounts) or via PayPal.

References and certifications are available on request.

Thank you for visiting my profile and have a nice day!
