I graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, the University of Bucharest, where I specialised in English and Spanish Philology.
I also had the opportunity to live in Spain for one year, thanks to an Erasmus scholarship. During my stay there, I attended courses on translation, terminology and consecutive interpreting.
Starting October, I will attend the MA course on Terminology and Specialised Translations, organised by the University of Bucharest.

Activity as a translator
I have been translating since 2003 and I am currently working for a group of companies with Spanish investors, where I translate mainly legal texts (but I have also dealt with fields like: economy, textiles, education, linguistics, advertisement, tourism, IT, cosmetics, civil engineering etc.).
Between 2004-2006, I have worked for a small translation and IT services company, my main task there being the translation of documents from/ into Romanian and English (and, occasionally, from French).

Personal profile
I am a hardworking, determined person, eager to expand my area of expertise and to become one of the best professionals in this field.
I pride myself on striving to render the source text into the target language faithfully while adapting it if the context and purpose of the text allow it; this is due to the fact that I have dealt with many types of texts from all kinds of fields.
I try to stay updated and improve my knowledge by means of constant reading and analysis of very diverse texts, so my work is always the results of careful planning and documentation, despite the fact that I am quite an imaginative and spontaneous person.
