Source text - English Sudden cardiac death and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) • An implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) is a stopwatch sized device implanted under the skin. ICDs are indicated in patients with class I risk of SCD, including those with symptoms of heart failure and a low left ventricular ejection fraction, which occurs when the heart pumps only a fraction of the blood it contains. • ICDs deliver electrical shocks and may also administer painless pacing therapy to stop ventricular fibrillation, as well as ventricular tachycardia, and other less problematic arrhythmias. • ICDs are proven to be 98 percent effective in treating dangerous ventricular arrhythmias that can lead to SCA.3 How is the device implanted and tested? • Implantation of an ICD takes about one hour, depending on the type, and sometimes can be done on an outpatient basis. • Implantation does not involve major surgery. A physician injects local anesthesia and makes an incision about four inches long in the upper chest. The ICD is inserted, and the leads (flexible insulated wires) are maneuvered through a vein into the heart. Single and dual chamber ICDs There are two main types of ICDs: • The dual chamber ICD is a device provided with two leads that monitor the right atrium and the right ventricle and can defibrillate the ventricle and pace both the atrium and the ventricle in atrio-ventricular synchrony. • Single chamber ICDs sense bradycardia and detect arrhythmias in the right ventricle only; provide therapy; and pace only the ventricle at a fixed rate. This may result in incomplete sensing and therapy, which may fail to accommodate the physiologic conduction pathways of the heart. In the winter of 1816 Jane contracted Addison's disease, a rare disorder of the adrenal glands. At this time she began work on what was to be her final incomplete novel, Sanditon. SEADUSE POOLT MITTE KEELATUD MÄÄRAL, MINGIL JUHUL POLE SANDISK EGA TA LITSENSIAARID VÕI NENDE VASTAVAD DIREKTORID, AMETNIKUD, TÖÖTAJAD, NÕUSTAJAD, LITSENSIAARID, LITSENSIAADID EGA PARTNERID VASTUTAVAD MINGI KAUDSE, JUHUSLIKU, SPETSIAALSE, LÄHTUVA VÕI ISELOOMULIKU KAHJU EEST, MIS ON TULENEV VÕI SEOTUD TARKVARA ALLALAADIMISE, LEVITAMISE, KASUTAMISE VÕI TEOSTUSVÕIME VÕI TEOSTUSVÕIMETUSEGA, JA SEDA ISEGI JUHUL KUI SANDISKI ON NIMETATUD KAHJUDE SUHTES ETTE HOIATATUD. Te ei vii välja ega ekspordi Ameerika Ühendriikidest ega taasekspordi mistahes asukohast mistahes Tarkvara osa või sellest otseselt tulenevat toodet mistahes maale vastuolus USA ekspordihalduse või selle järglasettevõtte eeskirjadega, välja arvatud juhtudel, kus nimetatud protseduur on kooskõlas kõigi nõutavate litsentside ja nõusolekutega vastavuses kehtivate ekspordiseaduste ja eeskirjadega, kaasa arvatud, kuid mitte ainult, USA kaubandusministeeriumi nimetatud eeskirjadega. Mistahes käesolevat lepingut puudutavad õiguste loovutamised või täiendused on kehtivad ainult juhul, kui need on kirjalikult esitatud ja mõlema osapoole esindajate poolt allkirjastatud. Te nõustute sellega, et Litsensaarid ja kolmandate osapoolte kasusaajad võivad kohustada Teid käesoleva Lepingu tingimustest kinni pidama. About me

I was born in Estonia into a bilingual society and languages have always been an important part of my life. I studied English and Russian from the first grade so by the time I graduated from Tartu Medical Institute in 1989, I had mastered three languages already. Next 4 years found me living in Europe and that is when I first started as a translator/interpreter. I have studied and worked in many different fields (medical, legal, financial) and have been doing my best to educate myself more with every passing day. Year 2000 brought me to United States and I dedicated several years to interpreting in hospitals and clinics. But traveling bug bit me again in 2007, which lead me to collecting my zoo (dog, cat, cat), buying a RV and hiting the road. Now am happily cruising around USA, loving life, translating on the go and learning new languages. French is next on my list.
