In Stein gemeisselt, erhaben - und allmählich in die Bedeutungslosigkeit absinkend. Die strategische Bedeutung von Visionen beschrieb de Saint-Exupéry in bildlichem Sinne einmal so, dass es, wolle man ein Schiff bauen, nicht darauf ankomme, Einzelaufgaben zu erfüllen, sondern die Sehnsucht nach dem weiten endlosen Meer zu verinnerlichen. Source text - English School Environment: • All teachers are professionally qualified and experienced; a fifth of them have Masters Degrees or the equivalent. • Optimal class size is deemed to be 15 but classes are never larger than 17. The current staff / student ratio is 1:7. • The School is composed of the original fort, Fort Elmo and two adjoining buildings which create a six acre campus. • There are two libraries – one for Elementary and one for the Secondary section of the School. Both have internet access, automated card catalogues and CD ROM databases. • Each section of the school – Elementary, Middle and High – has its own modern computer laboratory with PC networked platforms. • There are three separate, well-equipped science laboratories for biology, chemistry and physics at the secondary level. • The School offers physical education classes which make full use of the gymnasium, outdoor basketball court and the nearby National Swimming Pool complex. • Extra curricular activities include basketball, volleyball, fencing, pottery, chess, drama and photography. • The Art, Music and Drama programmes are well developed and several drama productions are staged each year. Frequent use is made of field trips to the theatre, art exhibitions and concerts. • A school lunch programme offers a catered lunch which is available to students on a daily basis and purchased with cash. Source text - English Keeping a diary supports personal development. I have kept a diary since I was twelve years old. During my already mentioned sabbatical in the year 2000, besides the many things I completed, I also found more time for diary writing. My handwriting has deteriorated into such a scrawl over the years, with whole sections -written down during excited periods - too difficult to decipher, that I switched from writing in handwritten journals to typing on my laptop. I do use the diary to go back and reread certain passages, to see what my thinking was, and, most importantly, to discover things I fell need changing. When I have repeatedly described a circumstance or character trait of mine that I dislike, I eventually wind up doing something about it. Having tried separate private and business diaries for a while but finding that too fussy, I now write at least once a week into a single file. I published part of my diary from my client-free year as a little booklet sponsored and given away by the paper company Appleton. I do have to admit this has affected my diary writing ever since, a little voice whispering, Other people might read this now seems to make itself heard in my head.	Translation - German Tagebuchschreiben unterstützt die persönliche Entwicklung. Ich schreibe seit meinem 12. Lebensjahr Tagebuch. Während meines schon erwähnten Sabbaticals im Jahr 2000 fand ich neben den vielen Dingen, die ich zum Abschluss gebracht habe, auch mehr Zeit fürs Tagebuchschreiben. Über die Jahre war meine Handschrift zu einem solchen Gekritzel verkommen, mit ganzen Abschnitten – aufgeschrieben in turbulenten Zeiten – die kaum mehr zu entziffern waren, dass ich aufhörte, mein Tagebuch mit der Hand zu schreiben und statt dessen den Laptop benutzte. Ich nutze das Tagebuch, um zurück zu gehen und lese manche Passagen noch einmal, um zu sehen, wie ich früher gedacht habe und vor allem, um Dinge zu entdecken, die ich ändern sollte. Wenn ich mehrfach eine Einzelheit oder einen meiner Charakterzüge beschrieben habe, die ich an mir nicht mag, finde ich schließlich den Schwung, etwas daraus zu machen. Eine Weile habe ich versucht, ein privates und ein geschäftliches Tagebuch getrennt voneinander zu führen. Das war mir aber zu aufwändig, und so schreibe ich jetzt mindestens 1 Mal die Woche in ein Einziges. Einen Teil meines Tagebuches aus dem kundenfreien Jahr habe ich als kleines Büchlein veröffentlicht, gesponsert und verteilt von dem Papierhersteller Appleton. Ich muss zugeben, dass sich das seitdem auf mein Tagebuchschreiben ausgewirkt hat. Eine leise Stimme, die wispert, „andere Menschen könnten das lesen“ scheint nun in meinem Kopf hörbar zu werden.

Der Gedanke der Begegnung ist hierbei das verbindende Element. In der Ausstellung begegnen sich Göttinnenfiguren und Marienbilder einerseits und Besucherinnen und Besucher andererseits. Die Figuren im Raum erhalten durch die hinzukommenden Menschen eine eigene individuelle Bedeutung. Vielleicht begegnen Sie Ihren Glaubenssätzen, dem, was Sie persönlich für möglich oder unmöglich halten. Vielleicht begegnen Sie einer Kontinuität, die sich nicht in erster Linie in der Darstellung, sondern vielmehr in der Deutung und Interpretation zeigt, in dem, was Menschen zu bestimmten Zeiten ausdrücken wollten und für möglich hielten. May be you will face a continuity not primarily being reflected in the presentation but rather in the explanation and interpretation, in what humans wanted to express and considered possible at a particular time. Perhaps you will rejoice in more than 120 exhibits, having fascinated by their aura and presence until today. The exhibited Goddess figures and pictures of the Virgin Mary come into touch with each other in seven corridors: (1) Encounter, (2) I am the Throne, (3) Snake and Moon, (4) The Power of the Two, (5) The Vigour of the Three, (6) Death and Regeneration, (7) Veneration and Adoration. The exhibition “Who is ... Goddess figures and pictures of the Virgin Mary” originated in the awareness that the encounter and with it the connection between goddess figures and pictures of the Virgin Mary is a highly complex subject-matter which will be discussed with many variants, committed and controversial. Isn't it conspicuously often the case when it is a matter of female symbols of power and vigour? An additional importance of the exhibition consists in showing up different female identities and the desire for a lived entity of human and nature, for the integrity of life as regards body, soul and mind. A wish that has been relevant to humans until today. If you are interested, please don't hesitate to ask for the accompanying events to the exhibition, organized by the Catholic institution of further education Wiesbaden.
