| Source text - English All travel is now merely a means of moving a camera from place to place, all travellers are ruled by the all-powerful lens. Visitors old-fashioned enough to wish only to stand and look with their anachronistic eyes are shoved aside by the photographers, who take it for granted that while they do their ritual focusing, nothing else may move or cross their vision. Those peculiar souls without a camera must step aside for those more properly occupied, must wait while the rituals take place, and must bide their time while whole coaches stop and unleash upon the landscape the Instamatic God. And the populations of whole countries seeing themselves cannibalised, swallowed up, vacuumed into the black-ringed staring eye, wrench what they can from the cannibals. You want picture my house, my camel? You pay.
None of this would matter, perhaps, if anything worthwhile was being accomplished. If all the constant busyness and clicking produced, at its end, what had not existed before, images of beauty captured or truth told. But, sadly, this isn't so. The camera is simply graffiti made respectable.
The camera is the means by which we stamp ourselves on everything we see, under cover of recording the Wonders of the World already wonderfully
recorded by professionals and on sale at every corner bookshop and newsagent. But what use to show Aunt Maud, back home, postcards of the Tuscan landscape, since we are not in the picture to prove that we were there?
No stretch of rocks has verity unless I am within it. No monument exists
but for my wife, leaning against it. No temple is of interest without my face beside it, grinning. With my camera I appropriate everything beautiful, possess it, shrink it, domesticate it, and reproduce it on my blank sitting-room wall to prove to a selected audience of friends and family the one absolutely vital fact about these beauties: I saw them, I was there, I photographed them, and, ergo, they are.
from "Amateur Photography: the World as it isn't and our Fred" by Jill Tweedie in the Guardian | Translation - Polish Świat, który nie istnieje i nasz Fred
Zawłaszczam je, pomniejszam, udomawiam i powielam na pustej ścianie pokoju gościnnego, aby wybranej grupie przyjaciół i rodzinie udowodnić jeden, absolutnie bezsporny fakt: Widziałem! Byłem! Sfotografowałem! A przeto są.

| | Polish to English: STATEMENT | Source text - Polish
Statement(komunikat) to klasa używana niemal w każdym obiekcie występującym w twojej grze. Dzięki niej możesz przekazywać informacje z danego obiektu (np. zdarzenia, czynności) do interpretera całego engineu.
Posiada ona 2 podstawowe metody:
Statement.addInformation() i Statement.addInformation2()Dzięki nim można dodawać ciągi łańcuchowe (String) do informacji nr 1 i nr 2.
Statement ret=new Statement();
ret.addInformation("Poszedł do xyz");
Statement ret=new Statement();
ret.addInformation("DESTROY Room2");
Polecenie, którego użyliśmy to DESTROY z argumentem Room2. Destroy oznacza "zniszczenie" aktualnego pomieszczenia (zapisanie go do katalogu tmp i wyrzucenie z pamięci) i wczytanie nowego roomu.
GAME OVER:
Statement ret=new Statement();
ret.addInformation2("GAME OVER");
import pl.olitext.*;
public class Activity1 extends Activity {
public Activity1(Timer timer) {
super(timer);
super.setName("open_window");
super.setDescription("You opened the window.");
super.setDislocatingType(Activity.NO_DISLOCATING_TYPE);
}
public Statement executeActivity(Argument[] args, Person myPerson, Room room) {
Statement ret;
ret=super.executeActivity(args,myPerson,room);
ret.addInformation(super.getDescription());
return ret;
}
Powyższa klasa to czynność o nazwie open_window. Zwróć uwagę na kod metody executeActivity(). Najpierw tworzymy tam komunikat o nazwie ret. Podsumowując gdy gracz uruchomi czynność open_window to na ekranie zostanie wyświetlony tekst:You opened the window.
Na zakończenie podaję obecnie obsługiwane (wersja 1.61) komendy komunikatów:
- DESTROY nazwa_klasy_roomu - zmienia aktualny room na podany w argumencie
- GAME OVER - kończy grę
| Translation - English
Statementis a class used almost in any object of your game. With statement you can pass object information (like event or activity) to game engine interpreter. This, in turn, returns appropriate text in dialog box.
Objects ofStatement class are easily used. The class has two basic methods:
Statement.addInformation()andStatement.addInformation2()They add (String)threads to information nr 1 and nr 2. As you may guess, the first is the most important. Data inserted here are directly visible on screen. The second is for special commands, like ending the game.
Let us see the example: As(Activity) is for moving between rooms, we want it to move our object to another room. We can simulate the move by screening proper text by:
Statement ret=new Statement();
ret.addInformation("Went to xyz");
It is not the right way yet, as the player does not change his place in reality. In such situation we should use inner class command statement:
Statement ret=new Statement();
ret.addInformation("DESTROY Room2");
On performing the code action, the player will be moved to Room2. Here, we used DESTROY command with Room2argument. Destroy here means a destruction of present room (saving it intotmp and clearing it from the memory) and loading another room.
As far as nr 2 information is concerned, it is exclusively used for commands writing. With it, we can end the game for instance. The following code:
Statement ret=new Statement();
ret.addInformation2("GAME OVER") will make GAME OVER;
As we now know what statements are, it is about time to type any simple class. We can use templates and create Activity1. This is how its source code may look like:
import en.olitext.*;
public class Activity1 extends Activity {
public Activity1(Timer timer) {
super(timer);
super.setName("open_window");
super.setDescription("You opened the window.");
super.setDislocatingType(Activity.NO_DISLOCATING_TYPE);
}
public Statement executeActivity(Argument[] args, Person myPerson, Room room) {
Statement ret;
ret=super.executeActivity(args,myPerson,room);
ret.addInformation(super.getDescription());
return ret;
}
The above class is an activity namedopen_window. Bring your attention to method code executeActivity(). First, it creates statement namedret. Than, we run the same method of base class(Activity) - it is a must. Later we add information, for dialog box. This information is the description (which we defined in game creator). Also, when player launches the activityopen_windowtekst:You opened the window.pops up in his screen
Following are presently used (version 1.61) statement commands:
- DESTROY the room-class-name - changes present room into given in argument
- GAME OVER - finishes the game
There are not many of them, as you can see. We would gladly welcome more of them, so we wait for suggestions. You can send them to our discussion list at.

To sell your shares, you need do nothing at all. We will automatically sell all your 320 shares on 2 July 2007 (the day after the 2005 AllShares plan matures and the first day the stock market is open).
You will receive the proceeds from the sale through Payroll less any tax, social security and administration fees due, within a maximum of 60 days. You can find out more about the tax and social security obligations in your country in the enclosed tax note.
The administration fee, charged by HB Employee Equity Solutions (EES), our share plan administrators, is £15 plus 0.25% of the value of the shares at the time of sale. This will automatically be deducted from the money you get from selling your shares.
Test 2
The Income Statement showed a 34% revenue growth over 2005. 15% of this came from existing businesses, ie those companies already within the Group at the beginning of the year, whilst 19% was from businesses acquired during 2005 and 2006. 1% of this growth was lost in £ sterling at Group level due to unfavourable exchange rate translation.
The growth in profits had been slightly lower at 14% as a result of acquisitions whose returns are lower than the Group average. However, the Company had a good record of improving the profitability and as an example SY, the UK Healthcare company purchased in 2006, had moved from making a small loss at acquisition to now being in profit.
Overall margin at 16.7% showed a slight decrease against the previous year but existing businesses had improved their profitability to 9.1% from 8.6% in 2005.
Financing costs ie the cost of borrowing money to finance the acquisition programme, had increased by 52% largely due to increased interest rates. The cost of borrowing at £19.7 million could be covered 14 times by the operating profit and as such remained conservative for a Group the size of the Company.

Aby sprzedać akcje, nie musisz dokonywać żadnych operacji. Wszystkie twoje 320 akcji zostaną sprzedane 2 lipca 2007 (dzień po 2005 i pierwszego dnia otwarcia giełdy program AllShares jest gotowy do realizacji).
Pokwitowanie transakcji sprzedaży otrzymasz w ciągu 60 dni, w ramach pokwitowania wypłaty na sumę pomniejszoną o należny podatek, ubezpieczenie społeczne i koszta administracyjne.
