لمَّا أسفرَ النهارُ عن بياضِ الغُرَةِ ،
قابلَهُ الليلُ بسوادِ الطُرّةِ
ثُم صارالهَزَلُ جَدا
واشتدّ النزاعُ بينهُما جِدّا
وإذا بالليل حمَلَ على النهارِ،
فصبغَ حُمرَةُ وردَتِه بصُفرَةِ البَهارِ.
ففتح الليل باب المناقشة،
وعقَدَ أسبابَ المنافَسَةِ بقولِهِ :
الليل:
إنَّ الحربَ أوَّلُها كلامُ ،
ثم تنجَلي عن قتيل أو أسيرِ بكَلام.
ولما بلَغَ الليلُ غايتَهُ ،
بَزَغ الفَجْرُ ورفع رايتَهُ
وأطلَعَ شُموسَ طلْعَتِهِ
في الأرضِ والسماءِ
فهجم عليه الليلُ وقال ... | Translation - English

Then the droll to earnest intensified,
Clashing in discord, a gruesome fight!
There the Night assailed the Day of glow,
Spraying its rosy light with a peppery blow.

Night:
It is with words that war becomes active,
and with words it ends up in a slain or a captive!
Wallowing, the Night reaches its end,

The Executive Director said world grains production had fallen for the second successive year in 2006, with a particularly large reduction in wheat. As world grain use was rising, especially maize for industrial purposes, there would be a considerable fall in global stocks in 2006/07. Grain trade was expected to be at the same level as in 2005/06 but, because of tight supplies and record-breaking demand, prices of wheat and coarse grains, as well as of soyabeans, had increased sharply over the last two months. Wheat and maize futures prices on the Chicago exchange recently had set 10-year highs. Farmers in the northern hemisphere had responded by increasing their plantings of winter wheat. US maize areas were also likely to expand because of the attractive prices compared with soyabeans. Interrelationships between markets of the different grains and oilseeds had become increasingly complex because of the possibilities of substitution in feed and industrial uses, and the Secretariat would continue closely to monitor developments. | Translation - Arabic

Eurasian Robin
This common bird is well known for its bright red breast, and also for its friendly behaviour. In western Europe, robins often follow gardeners to eat worms turned up during digging, and they sometimes become so tame that they will take food from an open hand. Robins are not so neighbourly with each other. The males defend their territories vigorously, chasing away any rival males, but allowing females to enter. Once a male and female robin have mated, the female builds a domed nest lined with moss and animal hair. The nest is usually hidden away near the ground, but robins also nest in garages and garden sheds. | Translation - Arabic
أبو الحنّاء الأوراسي
هذا الطير الشائع معروف بلون صدره الأحمر الفاقع وكذلك بسلوكه الودّي. وفي غربي أوروبا، غالباً ما تتبع طيور أبي الحناء البساتنة لتأكل الديدان التي تظهر أثناء الحفر، كما تصبح أليفة للغاية أحياناً بحيث تأخذ الطعام من كفّ اليد المفتوحة. ليست طيور أبي الحنّاء ودودة مع جيرانها، حيث تدافع الذكور بشدّة عن مناطقها مطاردةً أي ذكور منافسة لإبعادها، ولكنها تسمح للإناث بدخولها. وحال تزواج ذكر وأنثى أبي الحنّاء، تقوم الأنثى ببناء عش مقبّب مبطّن بالأًشنات الطحلبية ووبر الحيوانات. عادةً ما يكون العشّ متوارياً قرب الأرض، لكنّ طيور أبي الحنّاء تعشش كذلك في المرائب وسقيفات الحدائق.
