About me

I was born in France, where I completed my studies, then I divided my time between Rome and Paris before I moved to Edinburgh. I now live in Rome again.
I translate both literary and art texts: my heart is in the arts and in music. In parallel with translation, I also work behind the scenes at festivals, theatres and art galleries, offering my professional expertise and abilities, as well as my understanding of different aspects of the world of art and entertainment.

My native language is French and I translate from English to French and Italian to French.

I specialise in subtitling and translating texts about musicology, art history, theatre, cinema, literature.

My degrees

Master's degree in "Langue, littérature et Civilisation italienne" - University of Rennes II Haute Bretagne - France
Master's degree in "Métiers du Livre, des Arts et de la Culture" - University of Paris X St Cloud - France
Certificate in Advanced English - University of Cambridge - United Kingdom
Specialisation course in Musicology - University of Paris La Sorbonne

My Philosophy

Often the translation of art and editorial works is diminished by being incorporated into the expression “general texts”, since these are considered more easily accessible than so-called “technical translations”, the expression used to definethe scientific, legal, IT and other sectors.
It is my firm conviction, however, that anyone who intends to produce a suitable translation of artistic and/or literary writing should have not only artistic awareness but also a command of the vocabulary and expertise specific to this particular area, which requires an editorial style and an extensive knowledge of the context.
Art history or musicology terms, for example, are often used incorrectly and mutilate the sense of texts. This not only limits the understanding but also damages the beauty and the poetry of the works.

I make my knowledge and my personal experience in the arts available to meet the requirements of your texts, to provide excellent, accurate translations, seeking to ensure no nuance of the original is lost.
