Education Background - University of Letters in Iasi, Romania, in 2002, with a Bachelor degree in Translation-Interpretation.

Translation License no. 13086/06.2005 for EN and FR awarded in 2005 by the Romanian Ministry of Justice therefore my signature may be notarized.


My experience in the technical field is owed to my activity as in-house translator within a regional public utilities company and includes translations of the plant engineering and construction specifications for design and execution of water and waste-water treatment plants, included in the projects for the development of water supply and wastewater sewerage infrastructure carried out with EU funds – ISPA and the Cohesion Fund.

I also have the experience of translating 2 books from EN>RO :

I am very thorough in my work, researching everything with utmost care, checking and double-checking everything as detailed as possible (almost obsessively) so that the end result does not create confusions.

I adapt every translation task to customer’s requests and, also, depending on the specific field, I draw up custom glossaries, which I update regularly. I use a wide database, both electronic and printed, and also institutional web pages, which represent a major source of field-specific terminology.

Whenever necessary, I also ask for expert advice before I make my decision on terminology.

Strict compliance with deadlines - I approach each task responsibly, making sure that the set deadlines are met, at the same time keeping confidential the contents of the documents I am entrusted with.



The following are my main areas of expertise, although I am constantly furthering my knowledge in other fields as well:

- Engineering and construction of water and waste-water treatment plants - waste-water treatment plants processes, eg. piping systems, water cleaning technologies (biological and mechanical processes), elimination of bad smells, electrical systems installed, civil works executed, all the machinery involved (such as: valves, pressure switches, gas pressure regulators, gas boosters, etc.), operating manuals of the equipments installed (i.e.: valves, pressure switches, flame detectors, gas flares, gas booster, etc.). Output - roughly 900 pages only during the past year.

- Industrial - other
garment technical sheets, manufacturing processes for the garment industry, various operating manuals for machines and equipments for the apparel manufacturing industry (eg. Brother type of machines) - employed for 3.5 years at a garment manufacturing factory producing for famous international brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, with an output of roughly 700 pages/year.

Other technical translations sum up approx. 1500 pages and include: specifications for the installation of electric systems, thermal-electric power plants, heating systems, hydraulic systems, refrigerating systems, etc.

- Tender documents and technical specifications for execution of works for rehabilitation and construction of waste water treatment plants, water supply and sewerage systems, FIDIC (Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build), framework contracts for works design and execution, consultancy agreements in the construction field, work progress reports, minutes of the site and inspection minutes, site orders, working procedures, taking-over protocols for milestone stages and upon works completion, technical datasheets, specifications for indoor finishing works and facilities, technical manuals;

- Legal - approximately 2000 pages over the years, various documents such as: contracts (vendor contracts, addenda to vendor contracts, service contracts, employment contracts, lease contracts, contracts for manufacture and sale of textile finished products);powers of attorney, court rulings, qualification certificates, diplomas, car registration certificates, most of them being official documents intended for certification and I am Certified by the Ministry of Justice in Romania.
