Dear visitor,
My mother tongue is Croatian and I'm a professional translator with the university degree (4-years-programm) in German and Italian language and literature (Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb).
I also have a good knowledge of English language (CAE).
Although I've been in business for more than 12 years, I still didn't get tired of it - quite the contrary, I love my profession a little bit more every day.
Every job is a new challenge for me, an opportunity to learn something new. Therefore I gladly accept tasks not strictly connected with my fields of expertise.
My most important fields of expertise are technical – engineering, architecture – civil engineering – town planning, economy, tourism and marketing.
Among numerous projects I've done so far these are the ones I consider the most important:
translation of numerous technical manuals (i.e. construction machinery, electrical appliances, satellite dishes, industrial separator, sandblasting machine, gardening tools, gym equipment,…)
translation (partially), proofreading (partially) and localization of the web pages for the Croatian branch of an Austrian translation agency
translation of the web pages for several hotels
translation of the web pages for an Eye clinic in Germany
translation of short, but very demanding advertising texts for a German translation agency
translation for the exhibition „Project Zagreb“ for the Museum of the City of Zagreb
translation of the Lexicon of educational sciences
Most of the time I translate, but I also like proofreading jobs, probably because I'm also a teacher and don't mind correcting a homework or other colleague’s translation. My specialty in the proofreading area is proofreading of test translations - in addition to correcting them, I also give my opinion on the whole translation (minor and/or big mistakes, command of target language, familiarity with the subject).
And last but not least, I also like teaching, because it's the kind of job that automatically provides feedback.
