400 years ago, millions of common people of Europe learned to read and write through the invention of the printing press and the translation of the first books from Latin into the spoken languages. This ‘liberation from illiteracy’ terminated the medieval times in Europe and ignited what is known today as modern times. No force, no wars, no dictatorship could prevent millions of common people then to give up their right to reading, writing, knowledge and to a dignified life.
The people of the world are waking up to the fact that the same interest groups that continue to allow diseases to kill millions of people for financial gain are the same interest groups that are now dragging mankind into a third world war. And the people of the world are waking up to realize that this health sector is the single most strategic sector to change the fate of our planet towards a healthier and also a more peaceful world. The equation is simple. There are a handful of investors wanting to continue benefiting from diseases and war and there are the interests of more than 6 billion people in a world without disease and without war. Prije 400 godina milijuni običnih ljudi iz Europe naučilo je pisati i čitati putem izuma štamparskog stroja i prvih prevedenih knjiga s latinskoga u govorne jezike. To “oslobođenje od nepismenosti“ dokrajčilo je srednji vijek u Europi i „zapalilo“ ono što se danas zove suvremeno doba. Nikakva sila, ni ratovi, ni diktatura nije mogla onemogućiti milijune običnih ljudi da se odreknu svoga prava na čitanje, pisanje, znanje i na dostojanstven život.
Ljudi svijeta osvješćuju se prema činjenici da iste interesne skupine koje nastavljaju dozvoljavati bolestima da ubijaju milijune ljudi za financijsku dobit, iste su interesne skupine koje sada povlače ljudski rod u treći svjetski rat. Isto tako ljudi svijeta se osvješćuju i dolaze do spoznaje da je taj zdravstveni sektor jedini najvažniji strateški sektor koji će promijeniti sudbinu našeg planeta prema zdravijemu i mirnijem svijetu. I am a born Canadian with Croatian parents who has lived and studied in Canada for 15 years. Since 1985 I have been studying, living and working in Croatia. My formal education is Electrical technician & Ship technician.
My passion for languages was discovered whilst working for Yugotours London and the Croatian National Tourism Office (HTZ). During this time I also tutored English.

After working part-time and over weekends, in 2002 I decided to become a fulltime freelance translator (English-Croatian-English and Bosnian & Serbian to English).
Translating technical operating & maintenance manuals (electrical & mechanical) and nutrition guides are my specialties. However, I have also translated, among other texts, studies, health-related questionnaires, tourism brochures, law-related documents, hardware instructions, appliance instructions (home & industrial) and tests for basic work skills. As far as software goes I have translated Freebudget 5 for "Aquino Software".
Another point worth mentioning is that I work closely with Danijela Hrabar who is a translator (proofreader/reviser), who does all my proofreading & editing. The translation procedure is described in my CV.
Personal
I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, riding motorcycles, sailing, diving, fishing, reading and sleeping in. IT and Computers are almost an obsession for me. Nature and space have always intrigued me. Laying in the sun on the beach has always relaxed me. The paranormal has always fascinated me. My faith has always inspired me.
I do not like gardening, politics, unsavory food, broccoli, cauliflower and bad jokes.
I hate corruption, discrimination and of course bad payers.
