I was born and raised in Germany and have lived and worked as a freelance translator in Germany, France and Britain since 1986, including five years as an in-house translator for a translation agency in Hamburg, Germany (reference available on request). I am therefore fully familiar with the cultures in all three countries of my source and target languages.

I hold a post-graduate Diploma in Translation (IoL - English/German), and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in London.

I believe that it is important for good business translators to have lived and worked in the countries whose languages they translate from so as to minimize the risk of misinterpretation. My primary focus is not only on accuracy, but also on delivering a carefully crafted, stylish German text which does not read like a translation.
