About me
I graduated from the Lviv National University, the Department of Translation Studies and Contrastive Linguistics in 2004. During my studies I acquired solid theoretical knowledge of translation studies and practical skills in both translation and interpreting. Starting in my fourth year at the University I would interpret at academic conferences and seminars and soon developed a number of constant clients.
However, after graduating I moved to Berlin to study at ECLA In two years I have reached a new level of understanding and appreciation of important cultural, philosophical, and political issues. Unfortunately the translation and interpreting jobs became more rare and I had to give up on my previous clients based in Ukraine.
I have a genuine interest in liberal arts education, performing arts, and publishing. I'm also working part time for KadmusArts , doing research on performing arts festivals around the world.
I may decide to proceed with the academic career, but I certainly consider translation and interpreting extremely important in the multicultural environment of the contemporary world. Translation and interpreting into Ukrainian, a language of limited diffusion, is also politically vital at the moment, and I wish to participate in this big project of linguistic hence cultural and political transfer. It seems that ProZ community may help me in this effort in multitude of ways.
