L’extraction aux dissolvants volatils est aujourd’hui comme hier et probablement demain la technologie la mieux adaptée à l’extraction du parfum des végétaux odorants.
PRODUCTION DE CONCRETE
La méthode consiste à laisser macérer au sein d’un dissolvant les matières premières pulvérisées, broyées ou en état et à récupérer le dissolvant chargé de parfum, qui est acheminé vers le décanteur, pour éliminer l’eau extraite avec les produits odorants. L’extrait est ensuite conduit dans un concentreur ou le dissolvant est distillé et renvoyé dans le circuit, alors que la concrète demeure au fond de l’évaporateur.
PRODUCTION D’ABSOLUES
Les concrètes obtenues ne sont pas utilisé telle quelle dans les parfums car elles ont une consistance visqueuse, et elles sont parfois très colorées. Elles doivent donc être épurées par séparation des cires résiduaires qu’elles contiennent. Pour cela on les mélange à de l’alcool éthylique dans des malaxeurs appelés batteuses pour fournir des lavages alcooliques. Ceux–ci sont glacés à moins 10/12° et filtrés avant d’être concentrés sous pression réduite. Cette réfrigération à basse température permet de séparer les cires des parties odorantes de la concrète. On obtient des absolues de concrètes.

La tecnica più idonea all’estrazione di profumo dai vegetali odoranti è quella effettuata con solventi volatili; essa è sempre stata e rimane il metodo di estrazione più frequente, ed è probabile che lo rimarrà ancora per molto.
PRODUZIONE DI CONCRETA
Il metodo consiste nel lasciar macerare nel solvente le materie prime polverizzate, triturate o allo stato naturale, e nel recuperare il solvente carico di profumo, il quale viene poi inoltrato verso il decantatore per eliminare l’acqua estratta con i prodotti odoranti.
L’estratto viene poi messo in un concentratore dove il solvente è distillato e rinviato nel circuito, mentre la concreta resta in fondo all’evaporatore.
LA PRODUZIONE DI ASSOLUTE
Le concrete ottenute non sono utilizzate allo stato naturale nei profumi, poiché hanno una consistenza viscosa e sono a volte molto colorate. Esse devono essere depurate attraverso l’eliminazione delle cere residue; tale processo avviene mescolando le concrete ad alcol etilico in una sorta di impastatrice appositamente usata per lavaggi alcolici. Le concrete vengono poi portate ad una temperatura di -10°/12°C ed in seguito filtrate, prima di essere concentrate a pressione ridotta. Tale refrigerazione permette di separare le cere dalle parti odoranti della concreta. Si ottengono così le assolute di concreta.
