I moved to France 9 years ago, immediately after completing my degree in business and modern languages, in which I gained a First. For around five of those years I worked in internationally-focused businesses including a French holiday accommodation provider, a wine export company and an engineering firm specializing in geographical services. In all of these positions, I automatically became in-house translator - a role which I loved.

I now work full-time as a freelance translator and am studying part-time to gain a formal qualification in translation (Diploma in Translation - Institute of Linguists, January 2011 exam session) to prove my dedication to this field of work. I love my job and believe that my earlier varied career brings a real advantage to my skills as a translator.
As well as French, I am fluent in Spanish having taught English and travelled in Spain & Latin America for18 months.
