In 2005 I graduated from Yerevan State Linguistic University with major in English and Russian Languages and Russian Literature. However my translation practice began long before graduating the university. In 2001 being a student I began translating texts of general character (English to Armenian, English to Russian) and had a positive feedback from the local client. In 2002 I participated in a big project being employed by the US Embassy of Armenia as a translator/interpreter for American Special Forces Team which was providing theoretical and practical trainings for deminers and rescuers in Humanitarian Demining Training Center, Armenia. Being a part of professional translators’ team I translated a vast volume of military and medical documentation which was used during and after the trainings. Since then I have been completing a lot of projects of different volumes and in different areas (medical, technical, military, education etc.). In 2004 I joined ProZ community which helped me a lot in gaining a huge translation experience and meet translators from all over the world.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
I am a native speaker of Armenian and Russian languages.
I offer translation/proofreading/editing/DTP services and do my job striving to provide quality. Starting a project I always try to estimate my skills for ability to complete it in a professional manner and deliver high quality output. My principle is: “Never take a job beyond your competence”. Translation is a job which requires high sense of responsibility.
Translation I usually work in a pair with a proofreader who has credentials in the translation pair. However if you need only translation you will have it double-checked to escape any kind of errors. Your translation project is my job.
Proofreading/Editing I proofread/edit texts only in my native languages. Doing proofreading/editing my attention is concentrated on considering the quality of texts in the whole and revealing typos, spelling errors, mistranslations etc.


TEAM
I work with a team of translators/proofreaders. Together we complete big volume projects and I coordinate the process as our cooperation is targeted to meet client’s needs. Several native translators and proofreaders from different countries have excellent overview of any project, show professional approach and follow project instructions. We never miss a detail. If you have a big project we can complete it in tight deadlines.

SOFTWARE IN USE
The main translation tool in use is SDL TRADOS 2006 which is a great advantage in translation work. Standard Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe 8 Professional, Macromedia MX 2006…
Dictionaries: Lingvo 12, Multitran, DIGIX (English to Armenian, Armenian to English), HAY Dictionary (Computer Terminology, English to Armenian), EU Council dictionary (English to Armenian, Armenian to English, web-based), MedLib (Medical Terminology, web-based)

RATES
My rates may vary depending on project’s volume, complexity, deadlines etc. Rates can be agreed for each specific translation/edition job. Rates can be set in USD, EURO, and GBP.
