About me

PROFESSIONAL ARABIC TRANSLATIONS

I have worked as a full-time translator for various translation agencies in Egypt. Immediately after graduation I started my career by joining some of the biggest translation and localization agencies in the Middle East. Then, I was selected by the Fulbright Commission to teach Arabic as a foreign language at Middle Tennessee State University. In the United States, I am continuing my translation career through working on a freelance and part-time basis; besides, I am teaching Arabic.

I have received my education at both Al-Azhar University and Middle Tennessee State University. At Al-Azhar, I was majoring at English<>Arabic translation. Then, after moving to the US, I conducted post-graduate studies in Professional Writing and English Grammar and Usage at Middle Tennessee State University. Adding this extensive English knowledge I got from MTSU to the extensive translation studies and Arabic language classes I got at Al-Azhar University, makes me a distinguished translator in both language pairs.

Through working on both a full-time and part-time basis for various translation agencies around the world, I could gain experience in translating various kinds of texts. However, I gained more knowledge in translating texts that belong to the following areas:

1. Website Localization
2. HR and Development
3. Marketing & Business
4. Financial & Economic
5. Legal
6. Journalism
7. Telecommunication
8. Software Localization
9. Hardware Localization
10. User's Manuals
11. Automotive
12. UN Translation
13. Religious Texts

I am qualified to handle translation tasks using different CAT tools. I am familiar with the following CAT tools:

1- Trados, TagEditor (version, 2006, 2007)
2- SDLX
3- Across
3- MS Helium
4- Logo port
5- MS Loc Studio
6- Catalyst

As indicated in my résumé, I am a graduate of Al-Azhar University. Being a graduate of this university which is one of the largest universities in the world and most known for its intensive Arabic classes, makes me fully qualified to understand the Arabic text and produce an efficient translated text both in Arabic and in English. Currently, I am translating a weekly essay from Arabic to English for the well-known website, Watchingamerica.com, which is interested in translating news from all over the world to English. I am also doing freelance translations for agencies around the world.

I am extremely ambitious in my career and can work efficiently either individually or within a team.
