EDUCATION AND TRAINING

August 2004: Westfälische Wilhems-Universität Münster (Münster, Germany). One-month intensive summer course of German language and culture. Grant awarded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

September 2004 - June 2005: School of Languages. John Moores University (Liverpool, UK). Third course of the degree in Translation and Interpreting under the Erasmus Programme.

August 2006: School of Modern Greek. University of Cyprus (Nicosia, Cyprus). One-month intensive summer course of Modern Greek. Grant awarded by the Alexandros Onassis Foundation.

September 2006 – July 2007: Spanish Language Assistant in Ibbenbüren (Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany) and language studies at the University of Osnabrück (Osnabrück, Germany).

November 2006: Sworn Translator of English, certified by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

October 2007 – January 2008: Course on Web Accessibility and Usability for Administrators organised by the Centre of Reference in Accessibility and Web Standards of the National Institute of Communication Technologies (INTECO) (30 hours).

January 2009 – At present: Course on General Translation English-Spanish, preparatory for the Diploma in Translation by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIoL), by International House Barcelona.

UNIVERSITY PROJECTS

November – December 2005: Participation in the translation project of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Granada Discovering the Heritage from Spanish into English.

April 2006: Partial translation from Modern Greek into Spanish of the article The Spanish Philhellenism by I. K. Hassiotis, Professor of Medieval and Modern History at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

WORK EXPERIENCE

September 2007 – August 2008: Translation Internship, awarded by the Spanish State-owned Holding Company SEPI at the Spanish National Institute of Communication Technologies (aka INTECO).

December 2008 – At present: Freelancer for several translation agencies in different domains, including, but not limited to, scientific and technical translations (Internet, IT, computing, engineering, automotive, electronics, telecommunications, mechanics, construction, etc.), legal and financial translations (sworn translations, finance, accounting, etc.), general translation (art, tourism, marketing, advertising, etc.), localization and subtitling. I have also translated several books from French into Spanish for Ediciones ENI:
