Flexibility at (…) means a work culture in which the norms, practices and performance measures support a flexible, results-oriented approach to both work processes and people management. As long as business results are achieved, short-term/occasional/ad hoc flexibility is available with manager approval, as is the ability for employees to use a fair, consistent, business-based request process to apply for longer-term flexible work arrangements such as a compressed work week, flextime, part-time, job share, telework and remote work. Due to legal or business constraints, all of 's/MSD's flexible work arrangements may not be available in all work locations now or in the future.

Definitions
Please use the following definitions when completing the survey. You can view these definitions at any time during the survey by clicking the button in the lower right hand section of your screen.
Flexible Work Arrangements (FWAs) – On a regular, on-going basis, an employee uses one or more of the following types of flexibility to meet work, family and/or personal responsibilities. Employees using FWAs have gone through a request process and have an agreement with their supervisor.
Flextime – Varying the start and quit time of a standard day. (In some locations, departments establish "core hours" or hours of mandatory attendance, such as 10:00 to 3:00).
Part-Time – Working on a scheduled basis for less than the number of regularly scheduled full-time hours for the employee's site, with a corresponding reduction in pay and an adjustment of benefits.
Job Sharing – Two employees sharing the duties of a full-time position, with a corresponding reduction in pay and an adjustment of benefits for each.
Teleworking – Working at home or off-site up to several days a week on a regularly scheduled basis.
Remote Work – Working primarily as a home-based or mobile employee, with limited presence in a regular company facility.
Compressed Work Week – Working a full-time schedule in fewer than five days a week or ten days in two weeks.
Short-term, Occasional or Ad Hoc Flexibility – With their supervisor's approval, employees can occasionally adjust their start and quit times from standard hours or arrange to work from home. There is no formal, written agreement.

Semana Laboral Comprimida – Trabajo en un horario de tiempo completo, menos de cinco días a la semana o diez días en dos semanas.
Flexibilidad de Corto Plazo, Ocasional o Ad Hoc – Con la aprobación del supervisor, los empleados pueden, ocasionalmente, ajustar el inicio y finalización de su horario normal o acordar realizar el trabajo desde sus hogares. No existe acuerdo formal y escrito.
