About me
I have been brought up, educated and have worked in both the UK and France. My level of fluency and literacy in both French and English is of a high standard. Having grown up in both France and England, i have a linguistic, social and cultural fluency in both countries.

I embarked on my study of Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. The program i studied - one of the best of its kind - was both rigorous and wide-reaching. Much of my degree was geared towards the specifics of Arabic>English translation, with a particular focus on Journalism, Politics and current Events.
A year of study in Damascus enabled me to understand the Syrian dialect along with building upon my literary Fusha. 5 months in Egypt has allowed me to further pursue my study of the language.

My first degree was a joint honours in Arabic and Law. As such i have knowledge of legal documents and the legal system of England and Wales. On top of this, i also focused much of my legal study on Islamic Law.
I am now returning to Higher Education to pursue a degree in Medicine, and can capably translate medical and health-care related texts.

Experience International Organisations, Human Rights, Development
I have worked as a translator and interpreter for different human-rights focused groups, including Thara in Syria, and the the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Malaysia. I have also done pro-bono translations for a number of grassroots organisations and charities.
I am familiar and at ease with the vocabulary and subject knowledge required to perform accurate translation in such a crucial field.

Marketing and Public Relations
I have been employed in Marketing and Public Relations in the UK, and as such have built up extensive knowledge in this field. I have experience doing market research in English, French and Arabic and have produced research reports in French and English for the communications industry in Europe.

Certificates, Diplomas and CV's
I have a good understanding and knowledge of the different education systems and qualifications given in the UK, France, and the Levant. I have completed numerous transcript and diploma translations for higher education purposes in the UK.
I have experience translating CV's, and can not only translate the content but also present the document and information held therein in a suitable way for the UK job market.

I can work with all major DTP software, and can deliver completed translations in Word or PDF format.
