Anti-hepatitis B immunoglobulin (XXXX) for the prevention of re-infection of liver graft
in patients with hepatitis B undergoing liver transplantation
You have been asked to take part in a study on a drug. Before giving your consent to participate, you are kindly requested to read this form and to ask whatever information you require to be sure you have understood what the implications of your participation could be.
Nature of the drug
XXXX is an experimental drug that has been authorized in your country by an appropriate Regulatory Authority and by the Ethics Committee of your Hospital for use in this study.
XXXX is a product that is obtained from human blood. It contains antibodies (proteins of the blood) that bind to the viral particles of hepatitis B and help to destroy the active hepatitis B virus.
XXXX is produced with human blood drawn from donors who have actually been vaccinated against hepatitis B. These donors are accurately selected to exclude anyone who is infected with hepatitis A (HAV), hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV) or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The removal of these potential donors and the effective methods used for the destruction of the viruses during the production of XXXX help to ensure that this hemoderivative does not carry any of these viral diseases.
It has been shown that XXXX is as safe and produces the same blood concentration of antibodies against the hepatitis B virus as another already authorized anti-hepatitis B immunoglobulin.
In another ongoing study the capacity of XXXX to prevent hepatitis B infection in persons exposed to the hepatitis B virus is being assessed.

L’XXXX è un prodotto derivato dal sangue umano. Contiene anticorpi (proteine del sangue) che si legano alle particelle virali dell'epatite B e contribuiscono alla distruzione del virus attivo dell’epatite B.
L’XXXX viene prodotto partendo da sangue umano di donatori che sono stati vaccinati contro l’epatite B. Tali donatori sono attentamente selezionati, in modo da escludere i soggetti infetti da epatite A (HAV), epatite B (HBV), epatite C (HCV) o dal virus dell’immunodeficienza umana (HIV). L’esclusione di questi potenziali donatori e l'efficacia dei metodi utilizzati per la distruzione dei virus durante la produzione dell’XXXX contribuiscono a garantire che questo derivato del sangue non diventi un veicolo di contagio di suddette malattie virali.
