Thank you for visiting my ‘Proz’ profile. My short CV, also located on this profile page, will provide you with a summary of my nursing and pharmaceutical background (CV is available to Proz.com members only; will send to others upon request).

Having worked a combination of 22 years in the highly regulated nursing and drug-surveillance environments, in both the United States and in the Netherlands, I’ve developed a keen sense of detail, quality and accuracy.

My translation efforts have been subject to inspections by regulatory authorities (EMEA, FDA, and national governmental agencies) on more than one occasion over the past years. This type of vigilant working environment stimulates the development of accurate and excellent communication skills, as well as an ever-present sense of confidentiality.

Equally important to high-quality work, however, is the enjoyment I derive from translating the written word, both medical and general in nature. In fact, I started officially freelancing at the request of a couple of former colleagues working in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to my freelance activities, I translated literally thousands of medical documents from Dutch and/or Flemish into English, for the purpose of drug surveillance for previous employers. Examples of these or more recent types of documents I've translated can be found in the 'Keywords' section of this profile. Given that most of these assignments fall under a non-disclosure agreement of some kind, I am not able to divulge real names of clients or documents.
