I biomedicinska analytikerprogrammet vid Göteborgs universitet ingår valbara kurser som leder till fördjupning och möjliggör en specialisering för yrkesverksamhet vid laboratorier inom laboratoriemedicinen eller fysiologiska laboratorier och kliniker. De valbara fördjup-ningskurserna omfattar 90 av totalt 180 högskolepoäng. Efter ett första gemensamt år väljer studenten område för sin fördjupning. Laboratoriemedicin omfattar de kliniska disciplinerna klinisk kemi, transfusionsmedicin, klinisk bakteriologi, klinisk virologi, klinisk immunologi, klinisk patologi och cytologi samt klinisk genetik. Fysiologi omfattar de kliniska disciplinerna klinisk fysiologi, klinisk neurofysiologi, nuklearmedicin och klinisk farmakologi. Oavsett val av fördjupning förbereder utbildningen för yrkesverksamhet vid statliga forskningsinstitu-tioner, läkemedelindustri samt företag inom bioteknik och medicinteknik.
Den pedagogik som tillämpas inom Sahlgrenska akademin är forskningsbaserad och innebär problematisering av utbildningens innehåll och olika undervisningsformer för olika innehåll och sammanhang. Included in the Programme in Biomedical Laboratory Science at Gothenburg University are elective courses that lead to in-depth learning and which make possible a specialization for work activity in laboratories within laboratory science and physiological laboratories and clinics. The elective specialization courses encompass 90 of a total of 180 ECTS credits. After the first year of requirements, the student chooses the area of their specialization. Laboratory medicine encompasses the clinical disciplines chemistry, transfusiology, clinical bacteriology, clinical virology, clinic immunology, clinical pathology, cell biology and medical genetics. Physiology encompasses the clinical disciplines clinical physiology, clinical neurophysiology, nuclear medicine, and clinical pharmacology. Regardless choice of specialization, the education prepares the student for work activity at government research institutes, pharmaceutical companies and biotechnological and medical technological companies.
The pedagogy that is applied within the Sahlgrenska Academy is research-based and involves problematizing the education's content and different educational methods for different content and contexts. The teaching is designed in such a way that the student's own knowledge and experiences are taken into account and so that they may train at active, problem-based pursuit of knowledge and critical thinking.
