About me

Hola!

We are a small team mainly consisting of one native English speaker and Spanish Translator, myself Ramon, and Magali who is an experienced native Spanish Tutor and Translator. We like to think we can offer the best of both worlds of Spanish translation services, in the sense that we can provide the customer service and frequent direct communication advantages of directly working with a single translator but also the reassurance that your work will also be thoroughly discussed and proofed as with an agency. We can also, on occasion if required, work individually in-house for a particular company on a temp basis. We provide a thorough English <> Spanish translation service for individuals and businesses no matter how big or small from London and across the M4 Corridor to Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff and all over the UK by Email.

Recent projects include a translating a whole website and intranet for a well known blue chip British mail-order / eCommerce client from English to Spanish and aiding with the implementation of the company to Spain as they expand into Europe. This required a broad knowledge of technological and business translation at the top level. We’re currently involved in similar remote online translation and web localization roles including aiding a major British betting company to move into Europe amongst doing other often confidential work for individuals and companies big and small, from blue-chips to SMEs.

I am a British national who was born in Britain and lived here most my life. I have also lived in Cameroon and Argentina, where I studied Spanish and taught English, as well as acquiring business and graphics agency experience. I speak English and Spanish to mother tongue level.

As well as translating I'm a part time Graphic Designer therefore I understand the copy requirements for brochures, manuals and websites, and can liaise with designers and printers in both English and Spanish. I can also, together with my partners, can act as a 'one stop shop' to make sure nothing gets 'lost in translation' between the initial draft and the final printed product for the whole publication process. I possess extensive IT proficiency on PCs and Macs, a fast 60w/m typing speed, wide vocabulary and excellent grammar, syntax and style in both languages.

Apart from Graphic Arts and Digital Design I specialize in Business, Online Marketing, certain Technical Translations, Culinary, IT, International Sports (in which I have particularly strong working experience) and Software related translations. I have access to colleagues with wide scientific, legal and business translation skills.

I'm experienced on all the usual industry standard software and platforms such as Excel, Access, Sage, Outlook, Word etc as well as print and design software such as all the Adobe Creative Suite and Quark which further aides my ability in providing copy to the brochure/manual/magazine designers whilst adhering to strict graphic layout/web templates as well as spotting and offering consultancy on certain design and typesetting issues. This can really save time and resources for certain jobs.

Magali is a an experienced and effective native Spanish Teacher as well as a Translator, who studied at the University of Buenos Aires and has been teaching for various years. She has a wide literary knowledge from all over the world as well as all the usual skills you’d associate with an experienced teacher such as first class grammar, syntax and vocabulary. She is currently also studying Mandarin and can specialize in Biological, Media, History, Religion, Music, Tourism and Art related translations.

We cooperate on many translations and exploit each others' backgrounds, knowledge, and cultures. We can also share a higher volume workload for a quicker urgent turnaround if required and always proofread each other’s work. Therefore you could be hiring the capabilities of two Spanish-translating professionals for the price of one. We place particular emphasis on ensuring that our translations are idiomatic as well as faithful.

We have a PC, Powermac, the latest MacBook Pro laptop and most of the industry standard software. We generally work completely remotely for clients all over the UK & EU. We can accept files in almost any format and will Email the translated documents back promptly. If required we can meet clients face-to-face in the London, Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff, M4 Corridor area.

	X Why did the menu change? The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to. The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together.
