Nace en Madrid, 1965. Escribe su primera obra, Alesio, en 1984, mientras estudiaba interpretación en la Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid donde se tituló en 1987. La obra ganó en el 86 el premio Tirso de Molina, y el ICARO de Diario 16; posteriormente, fue seleccionada por Lluis Pasqual para inaugurar, en octubre del 87, la temporada del Centro Dramático Nacional en el teatro María Guerrero. Al año siguiente, García May traduce, adapta y dirige Hamlet!, a partir del texto shakespeariano y, escribe su segunda obra, El dios tortuga, que, sin embargo, se dio a conocer mucho más tarde, al ser publicada por Visor en 1997. En 1990 se convierte en profesor de la RESAD, donde sigue impartiendo clases de Historia del Teatro actualmente. En el 91 estrena Operación ópera, inspirada por los comics de Vázquez publicados en los años 70 por Bruguera. El propio Vázquez colabora en el montaje. En el 95 escribe y dirige Corazón de cine, una comedia situada en el ambiente de Hollywood y en el 96 termina la redacción de Lalibelá, cuya escritura había iniciado diez años antes. Más recientemente, en el 2000, García May regresa al Centro Dramático Nacional, ahora dirigido por Juan Carlos Pérez de la Fuente, para estrenar Los vivos y los muertos.
Además de estas obras ha escrito también varias piezas cortas (Gigantes, Últimos golpes de Butch Cassidy entre otras), ha colaborado en la dramaturgia y/o traducción de textos dramáticos de otros autores (El tiempo y la habitación, de Botho Strauss, Suburbania, de Hanif Kureishi, La farsa de la vaca y el flamenco español, de G.A. Brederode) y ha dirigido, además de las producciones mencionadas antes en el texto, PAR, espectáculo sobre textos de Henrik Ibsen. Desde 1990 es miembro del consejo editorial de la revista Teatra.

Né à Madrid en 1965, il écrit sa première oeuvre, Alesio, en 1984, alors qu’il étudie l’interprétation théâtrale à l’École royale supérieure d’art dramatique (RESAD) de Madrid, d’où il sort diplômé en 1987. Cette oeuvre a remporté en 1986 le prix Tirso de Molina, y l’ICARO du quotidien espagnol Diario 16; elle est ensuite sélectionnée par Lluis Pasqual pour lancer, en octobre 87, la saison du Centre dramatique national au théâtre María Guerrero. L’année suivante, García May traduit, adapte et met en scène Hamlet!, inspiré par le texte de Shaekespeare et il écrit sa deuxième oeuvre, El dios tortuga (Le dieu tortue), qui, cependant, ne sera reconnue que beaucoup plus tard, quand elle sera publiée par Visor en 1997. En 1990, il devient professeur à la RESAD, où il continue encore aujourd’hui à donner des cours en Histoire du théâtre. Il a contribué à la dramaturgie et/ou à la traduction de textes dramatiques d’autres auteurs : Le temps et la chambre de Botho Strauss, Le Bouddha de banlieu de Hanif Kureishi et La farce de la vache et le flamenco espagnol de G.A. Brederode. Il a mis en scène, en dehors des productions mentionnées ci-dessus, PAR, un spectacle basé sur les textes de Henrik Ibsen. Depuis 1990, il est membre du conseil éditorial de la revueTeatra.

Dans le cadre des Journées de la culture, Marie-José Gustave de Pas à papier et Laurence Petit de Gogofrisette vous ouvrent les portes de leur atelier pour une deuxième année. Dans un espace plus grand et plus lumineux, elles vous attendent avec des projets spectaculaires. Venez découvrir les créations « cartonnesques » d’envergure réalisées par Pas à Papier mobilier de salon, luminaires, vitrail …en carton ! Participez à une mosaïque collective et venez voir la première murale réalisée entièrement de tuiles et de vaisselles récupérées par Gogofrisette. Les deux artistes partagent également leur passion en offrant au public des ateliers qui allient récupération et créativité directement dans leur inspirante bulle de création située à Saint-Henri.
Venez découvrir leurs techniques, l’originalité de leur travail et la couleur qu’elles peuvent ajouter à votre décor.
L’atelier est situé 4911 rue Dagenais, angle St-Rémi, Montréal (à quelques minutes du métro St-Henri)

During the Journées de la culture, Marie-José Gustave of Pas à papier and Laurence Petit of Gogofrisette are opening their workshop for the second year in a row. They are expecting you, with spectacular projects, in a space that has grown bigger and brighter. Come and discover living room furniture, lighting, and stained-glass, all those amazing « cardboard-based » creations birthed by Pas à Papier! Come and participate to a collective mosaic! Be the firsts to see the mural that Gogofrisette made entirely out of throw-away tiles and plates! The two Saint-Henri artists have this in common: through workshops, they love sharing their passion and teaching you how to combine recycling and creativity, in their inspiring space.
What an opportunity to discover the techniques they use, their very original artworks and the touch of colour they can bring to your interior.
The workshop is on 4911 rue Dagenais, corner of St-Rémi, Montreal (a few minutes away from the St-Henri metro station)
