Tiamulin binds with domain V of RNA 23S located in the 50S ribosomal sub-unit of the bacterium. The binding occurs at the action site of the peptidyl transferase or in the immediate vicinity. It enables interaction with microbial protein metabolism and thus blocks the biosynthesis of proteins. (9)
