With a background in both languages and programming, I offer specialist IT translations, as well as translations in a range of other subjects, to a variety of direct clients and agencies.

Linguistic background: I hold a degree in French from Oxford University, UK and an MPhil in Linguitsics from Cambridge University, UK. For over 10 years, I have been developing the French Linguistics web site, one of the most used French dictionary sites on the web, from where I also offer a more general French translation service (both free MT and professional services).

IT/business background: I am Sun-certified Java programmer. I have been programming on a freelance basis for over 15 years and also have several years' "industry" experience working as a developer for a UK company, giving me real-life knowledge of business processes within a commercial organisation. I currently run the Javamex web site focussed towards Java performance information and tutorials. I have also written various pieces educational and language-oriented software, including a recently released French vocab games app for iPhone.

To protect the confidentiality of my clients, I do not generally disclose client names or confidential details of individual projects.

However, I maintain a list of the types of projects I have undertaken recently, and various of my translations have been published with ISBNs for you to locate. Please ask me for more examples if required. On request, I can also supply a small sample of translations that publishers have agreed for me to reproduce.
