Obtive o grau de Bacharel em Tradução em 2008, tenho trabalhado na área desde 2008.

Em 2006, comecei a pesquisar sobre a dupla 'tradução e cultura', particularmente entre os contextos português e brasileiro. Desde então, venho me interessando em pesquisas sobre o papel cultural nos textos portugueses e brasileiros, e sobre a importância de suas traduções para que possam significar depois de cruzarem o Oceano Atlântico. Ultimamente, para o Mestrado, analiso um fato jornalístico (o desastre acontecido com o Airbus 330 da Air France em maio de 2009) visto pelos olhos de jornalistas brasileiros e portugueses. O fato, aqui, é tido como o 'texto original', e os artigos das revistas como as 'traduções' dele para as distintas culturas. É uma pesquisa longa e detalhada, a qual espero terminar no final de 2011.

Enquanto isso, quando não estou mergulhando nos oceanos das teorias tradutórias, eu traduzo. Ou o contrário. Vivendo entre diferentes tipos de textos, diferentes tipos de clientes/leitores. Cada um mais desafiador, e cada um mais enriquecedor. Porque trabalhar neste diplomático mundo da tradução é a maneira que encontrei para mudar, aos poucos, pequenos universos.

I got a Translator's Degree in 2008, working with translation since 2008.

In 2006 I started researching the duet 'translation and culture' specially between the Portuguese and Brazilian contexts. Since then, I have been interested in researching the cultural role in Portuguese and Brazilian texts, and the importance of their translation in order to make them signify once they cross the Atlantic Ocean. Lately, for my Master's Degree, I analyse a journalistic fact (which is the desaster that happened to the Air France's Airbus 330 in May, 2009) seen through Brazilian and Portuguese journalists' eyes. The fact, here, is taken as the 'original text', and the magazine articles as the 'translation' of it for the two distinct cultures. It is a long and detailed research, which I hope will be completed by the end of 2011.

In the meantime, when I am not diving in the oceans of translation theories, I translate. Or the other way around. Living among different kinds of texts, different kinds of clients/readers. Each one more challenging, and each one more enriching. For working in this diplomatic world of translating is the way I found to change little universes little by little.
