FOSTER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2005—Company X today announced that bioequivalence results from its second formulation of the fixed-dose combination of Truvada(R) (emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) and Company Y’s Sustiva(R) (efavirenz) for the treatment of HIV did not demonstrate bioequivalence to the individual products dosed separately. The company is proceeding with the evaluation of up to three new formulations, developed based on bi-layer technology.

Company X Reports 28% Jump in Second Quarter Revenues; First-Half Revenues Up More Than 18% Over 2004
PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 2005—Company X today reported
that revenues rose 28% during the second quarter of 2005, as compared to the second quarter of 2004. The Company reported revenues of $555,000 for the second quarter of 2005, an increase over $433,000 in revenues reported in the second quarter of 2004. The net loss for the second quarter of 2005 was $337,000, or $0.01 per basic and diluted common share, compared to a net loss of $1,028,000, or $0.04 per basic and diluted common share in the second quarter of 2004.
Revenues for the first half of 2005 increased 18%, to $1.186 million, over $1.0 million reported for the first half of 2004. The net loss dropped from $1.786 million reported for the first six months of 2004 to $549 thousand in net loss for the first six months of 2005.
