Education and qualifications

I am a full-time freelance translator, native Russian and Belarusian speaker. I have translation experience in the following fields: engineering, law, finances, marketing, etc.

I hold two undergraduate degrees: BA in teaching German and English (1998-2003) from Brest State University and BA in Economics and Law (2007-2009) from Belarusian State University. Thus, I am very familiar with all kinds of topics in this area (finance, marketing, market research, services management, HR, economics, general management).

I have 6+ years of translation experience. I am a very fast learner who takes pleasure in the process. Fast, accurate and reliable translation is a must for me.

Working manner

My goal is to work 100% correctly and be 100% reliable regarding agreements between me and my clients. In addition, I am working with a CAT tool (Trados Studio 2009) so I can leverage terminology from previously translated documents and improve continuously.

I am always interested in long-term collaboration. The rates depend on size and difficulty of the texts. I am also open to negotiations, especially for larger projects.

Inquiries of interested companies are very much appreciated and will be answered promptly. I respond to job offers received by e-mail (also in the evening) almost immediately.

Average daily throughput is 1500-2000 words. Pressing orders may involve 10-50% higher rates.

Hobbies and Interests

Due to my personal interest I am very familiar with all kinds of IT-related topics such as software, hardware, lifestyle appliances, internet etc.

I consider myself a prolific poet. I have written well over several hundred poems and song lyrics, which were published in a book of poems as well as in Belurusian and international periodicals. Translation often requires creativity that is needed in poem-writing. Being a writer myself, I love words and language so, when “the phrase that says it all,” is just beyond reach, I can reach it for you and get your message across with concise and effective (Belo-)Russian copy to suit most creative and business briefs.

I am ordained Baptist minister. When I'm not translating, I spend most of my time expositing Scriptures, preaching and teaching for different people groups in various church settings. Religious, philosophical and metaphysical texts are of great interest to me.
