My native language is Brazilian Portuguese, and I am just as fluent in English, with a good knowledge of Spanish, Italian, French, and German.
I can translate several kinds of materials from English, Spanish, Italian, French, German into Portuguese and from Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French, German into English. I also adapt European Portuguese texts to the Brazilian variant, a service highly appreciated by translation companies in Portugal, for example. (Reference upon request.)
The translation work I usually do includes business correspondence, legal documents, medical texts, technical material, personal records, websites, IT files, software, patents, contracts, commercial documents, government, politics, international relations, marketing, advertising, society, genealogy, art, cinema, tourism, philosophy, religion, history, dissertations, booklets, fiction and non-fiction, and more.
I graduated as a translator and interpreter from a renowned university in Brazil (Sao Judas Tadeu).
Subsequently, I worked for many years as a senior translator in a local publishing house, where effective use of both written and oral Portuguese and English was required on a daily basis.
I decided to start full-time freelance translation business in 1997 and since then I have been working in that field.
I accept material through e-mail, fax, or regular mail. My work is fast and reliable. Rates are negotiable. Assignments, projects and tasks are submitted in time.
Translation is usually done in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FrameMaker, PageMaker, InDesign, XML, HTML, Interleaf, QuarkXpress, Ventura, and are then emailed to the customer or agency. I am able to work using Wordfast, SDL Trados, and Transit CAT tools, with the added benefit of translating nearly any kind of file format and extension.
