About Me:
Briefly, allow me to introduce myself. I am a freelancer, a native Somali; I am an interpreter and translator. I am also an educator, I teach ESL in a high school setting at a County Schools system. I hold Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting & International Business from Somalia & BScIT here in the States. I am a certified Somali language proficiency tester by American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, a national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction throughout the U.S. I conducted for than hundred Oral Proficiency Interview tests or OPI test in Somali languges. This is a test that determines how well a person speaks Somali language by comparing his or her performance of specific communication tasks. I also work with numerous agencies throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. I enjoy working with each of them. At any moment you choose my services and would like references, I will gladly supply one to you. Just ask.
Let me, just for a moment tell you the subjects of the translation and interpretation I have experience with. I have fulfilled assignments in courts, at Federal, State and County levels, Social Services, business communications, education and Medical/hospital settings. I have interpreted over the phone as well. I have been working in these areas since, February 1992.
