[...] The elevator stopped, and the man was on his feet by the door with the switchblade hidden by his leg. Although Mark was paralyzed, he was able to hope and pray that someone would get on the damned elevator with him. It was obvious he was not getting off at this point. They waited ten seconds at the sixth floor, and nobody entered. The doors closed, and they were moving again.
The man lunged at him again, this time with the switchblade an inch or two from Mark´s nose. He pinned him in the corner with a heavy forearm, and suddenly jabbed the shiny blade at Mark´s waist. Quickly and efficiently, he cut a belt loop.

Aunque Mark estaba paralizado, todavía era capaz de mantener las esperanzas y rogar para que alguien se subiera al maldito elevador con él. Era obvio que no se iba a bajar a esta altura. Esperaron diez segundos en el sexto piso, y nadie entró. Las puertas se cerraron y el elevador empezó a moverse otra vez.
El hombre volvió a arremeter contra él, esta vez con la navaja automática a un par de centímetros de la nariz de Mark. Lo inmovilizó en el rincón con un antebrazo pesado, y de pronto pinchó la cintura de Mark con la hoja resplandeciente. Con rapidez y eficacia, cortó una presilla del pantalón.
