My name is Spiros Konstantogiannis, I hold a bachelor’s degree in physics and a master’s degree in theoretical physics as well as the CPE. I'm an English to / from Greek translator with eight years of experience in technical and scientific translations as well as in software localization / translation.
I collaborate regularly with many translation agencies and a long-established Greek scientific magazine (as science / technology editor).
Some big projects I have taken part in, include the translation / proofreading of a chemistry CD-ROM for high school students (English to Greek), the translation of scientific (chemistry, biochemistry, biology, medicine) and technology-related patents (English to Greek), the localization of Adobe products (English to Greek), the localization of Windows Vista components (English to Greek), the translation/ proofreading of technical manuals for the Athens and Thessaloniki Metro (English to / from Greek), the translation/ proofreading of Owner’s and workshop manuals for cars, motorcycles, trucks, loaders, excavators and boats (English to Greek), and much more.
I work smoothly with many translation tools and text processing applications. I’m also familiar with html, css, javascript authoring and java programming (desktop applications) and I have a basic knowledge of xml and search engine (Google) optimization techniques.
I have an extensive collection of monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, links to online glossaries and ADSL connection.
Combining background knowledge and translation experience in many technical fields, I would consider myself eligible for the translation of a wide range of technical, technical-related, scientific texts and software (UI, documentation etc). Normally, I translate from 2,000 to 3,000 source words/day but that may vary according to the presence or absence of difficulties in the text, and the deadline.
