About me
I am a Russian-English bilingual and hold two law degrees in the Netherlands and one in the UK. I currently work full time as a trainee lawyer in London.

I decided to take up legal translation while working at a major international law firm, where I had to deal with many translations which were as outrageously bad as they were expensive.

Translating a legal document is more than just retyping it in another language. A true legal translator must have both the profound understanding of complicated legal concepts and the ability to reproduce them in the target language in such a way that they are clear to a lawyer from the target jurisdiction. My extensive training in comparative law, experience in legal research and sound knowledge of several legal systems and languages in addition to the pairs I work in enables me to do just that with a legal text of any complexity.

Translations that sound "legalese" may give you a false sense of security, but if you want your translation to make LEGAL SENSE, have your document translated by a lawyer.

Specialist knowledge and experience: civil procedure, arbitration, international law and commercial contracts.
