MSc introduction:

Imperial College is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for both teaching and research in all areas of science, technology and medicine. As part of the University of London it offers degrees which are held in high regard the world over.

The MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation with Translation Technology (MScTrans), a new and exciting Masters programme offered by the Humanities Programme of Imperial College London, is designed to provide training for those intending to enter the field of specialised translation. It offers participants the opportunity to develop their translation and language skills, to deepen their understanding of the workings of language as an essential tool of communication and to gain vital experience in the rapidly developing area of translation technology. As a graduate of the programme you will be equipped with the practical competence needed for professional work in the fields of translation and software localisation and for research work in translation studies. Moreover, the focus on scientific, technical and medical translation together with the emphasis on computational tools and translation practice in specific language pairs makes this attractive course a unique contribution to translation studies in the UK.
